It's probably because it sounds so generic and predictable compared to everything else on Achtung. It sounds very "safe," and FM radio-friendly. I think that the lyrics are very cliche as well. How many other Wild Horses songs are there in existence?

I don't understand how someone can hate So Cruel. It has some of the best lyrics that Bono has ever penned, IMO.
