I had the loudest mouth. When we formed the group, I was the lead guitar player, singer and songwriter. Nobody talked back at first. But then they talked me out of being lead guitar player and into being the rythm guitar player and into just being the singer. And then they tried to talk me out of being the singer and into being the manager. But I held on to that. Arrogance may have been the reason. - Bono

As a vehicle it has its limitations: it probably wouldn't get you to work and back. But it could make someone a fantastic cocktail bar. - Edge on the lemon

I'm limiting this to ROCK bands/artists, which is why i'm leaving Enya, Clannad, and many of my other faves out. Also, after the first 2, the list is not necessarily in order, and I'm leaving some out..I may go back and add/delete some.

...Its no secret that a liar won't believe in anyone else...

btw I noticed that a lot of people named the White Stripes....I downloaded a few songs and I don't know what to think of them....what's their best song? any recommendations?

Edgevox,

When I first listened to TWS, WBC, I have to admit, I wasn't really impressed. Only after repeated listens did I discover the impact of the lyrics. After more listens, the balance of their simplistic music and complex lyrics had me hooked.
I recommend getting the album and giving it a thorough listen. Maybe it will grow on you as it did me.

Peace
