(in my opinion)

It would only need the slightest tweak (but keep it 'raw' sounding) and there's a thumping rocker, with great lyrics. I like Fast Cars, but I love cranking Xanax right up. A shame really.

I love this song.

Really when I pictured what U2 were up to back in 2002/2003, I was thinking along these lines. Raw rock and roll, hooks, great melody, playful yet creative lyrics, and a killer chorus.

Fast Cars is still good, but it's weakness is Xanax and Wine's strength, the chorus, IMO.

Also, the solo in Xanax >>>>"solo" in Fast Cars.

I do like the verse riff in Fast Cars better.

While I miss the chorus from X&W, I prefer the Arabic vibe of FC as opposed to guitar-y Xanax.

I also like Xanax better.. it's more rock 'n roll..

It's the only alternate version included in that 'Unreleased and Rare' package that i like better than the final album version.

yeah , shame they bottled out of it though.

I honestly like both, it would be hard for me to pick one. However, Xanax and Wine is definitely punk rock from Venus.
