the final round for b-sides, atyclb/htdaab had love you like mad getting the boot. this means flower child wins for this album, and will go on to compete in the finals.

full results:
love you like mad: 23
flower child: 21

the rules are pretty easy. this is for worst song U2 survivor. this means you vote OFF your FAVOURITE song. the goal here is to see what is the least-liked U2 song for each album, and narrow it down to least-liked song ever.

ROUND ONE (FINALISTS):
- the ocean
- is that all
- red light
- fourth of july
- trip through your wires
- love rescue me
- tryin' to throw your arms around the world
- the wanderer
- theme from the swan
- the playboy mansion
- grace
- one step closer
- j. swallow
- boomerang one
- race against time
- viva davidoff
- flower child

you are to vote based on the studio version of that particular song. do not vote based on how it sounds live or how it sounded remixed.

timing of the poll: there are so many rounds, it really makes sense to keep each individual round as a timed ONE day poll. when we get to the end of each round, the final poll will last two days, to give more people a chance to vote.

ties will be broken by eliminating both songs from the poll UNLESS we are in the top five. even if there are three tied, all three will be eliminated. any more of a tie (four-way tie, etc.), then we will have a tiebreaker round.

also, when we get down to the final round (the winner of each previous round going against each other), these polls will last two days. the same tiebreaking rules apply.

remember, vote for what you consider to be the strongest song, or your favourite. this competition is to determine the WORST U2 song.

Ooh, it's the finals! What are we going to do when this is all done?

Trip Through Your Wires

Hmmm ... The Wanderer, Grace, or One Step Closer ... I haven't a clue. I'll probably go with One Step Closer, but I won't vote just yet.

Trip Through Your Wires

I got an idea, BEST SONG SURVIVOR, vote off the WORST song each round, just the opposite of this one to find the best song.

Two people have mentioned that we should have a best song survivor (Hallucination and corianderstem) - and I wholeheartedly agree with them! The only problem is that if we do that - I reckon I could predict the winner - Streets or One. So we have to figure out something where the answer isn't beyond doubt already.

Oh, I voted for Tryin' To Throw Your Arms Around The World. It is a really nice song - the easy way out of Achtung Baby - as someone put it a while ago.

Just look at it people - now we have the official 18 WORST U2 songs ever.

We had a best song survivor before this worst song series - One won the final round.

Also, there's 17 songs in this poll, not 18.

it's not like it can't be redone, i just doubt the results would be any different. i've no doubt that one will win.
The final may very well come down to One and Streets, but I'm nearly certain that a lot of the individual voting would be different. Who knows, One might not even make it off of Achtung Baby this time. There's been a lot of love directed towards songs like The Fly and UTEOTW on some of the Vertigo tour threads, so maybe that will carry over.

I wasn't around when the best-song survivor was run nearly two years ago and I bet I'm not the only one. A new album has been released since which has resulted in a lot of new members, so I say:
Let's have a new best-song survivor:yes:

To get more accurate results we could say that the two or three best songs from each album go to the finals.
