Hello,
Not sure if this is the right subforum, but what would you suggest as a workout setlist with only songs of U2 ??

It is an hour of intensive aerobic, a couple of years ago I lost 60 pounds while working out while listening to songs from the boys.

I gained over 40 pounds  and I want to pick up the pace again. I own the complete U2 collection and a lot of bootlegs.

I had something in my head like:

1. pop muzik (hasta la vista)
2. mofo (hasta la vista)
3. i will follow (hasta la vista)
4. zoo tv intro (dublin)
5. zoo station (dublin)
6. even better than the real thing (dublin)

--- then to get my breath back

7. in a little while (live from boston)
8. MLK
9. Bad (live from boston)
--------------------------------------
then to start the pace again
10. City of Blinding Lights (live from Chicago)
11. Running to stand still (zoo tv version)
12. where the streets have no name (zoo tv version)
13. walk on (uk single version)

Hmm. Why not throw in Elevation? That actually plays at my gym pretty often. I heard Electrical Storm there before too.

I like the idea of a break in the middle of the playlist, Hoppytje, but I'm quite sure that if MLK came up when i was trying to excercise that I might actually fall asleep, but I love having the idea of Bad (boston) in there to get things moving again slowly.

Ever thought about throwing Rejoice in there? It's one of those really jumpy songs that I could see as being great for running and excercising.

A couple more songs to consider:

HMTMKMKM
Fast Cars (Jack Knife Mix)
City Of Blinding Lights (4 Strings Remix)
Take You Down/Wake Up Dead Man ( From The Salome OT)
Salome (Zooromancer Remix)
Lady With The Spinning Head (Dance Remix)
and no workout tape would be complete without
Wire (Dub Mix)

When I go for my daily six mile bike ride. I listen to the Following.

-Beautiful Day
-Walk On (UK single)
-Vertigo
-City of Blinding Lights
-Stuck in a Moment
-Beethoven's 9th symphony
-That new song by Bono (The Pirate one)
-I will Follow
-Pride(In the Name of Love)
- and All I want is you.

Mysterious Ways*
Mofo *
Discotheque *
EBTTRT*
COBL *
I will Follow
Vertigo *
Beautiful Day *
Lemon *
Elevation
The Fly
Desire

I listen to the remixes* because they are a bit longer while I am on the treadmill

I personally listen to either War or my Red Rocks bootleg, great energy and aggression if you're doing that kind of workout. I may have to try some of these playlists though.

Elevation (live from Slane)

That one always makes me want to jump up and down like a giant fool.

Others that get me all pumped up:

Pop Muzik/Mofo (live from Mexico City)
Vertigo
Out of Control

Thats the times when remixes arent bad to listen to even after all the people complain about them having remixes but they are good to work out too :)

i really cant workout to any u2 music really, i dont know why, just doesnt work

plus i dont want to equate u2 songs with pain

the only song ive ever used and was helpful was where the streets have no name

gotta have DESIRE on there, great workout song. that's about the only u2 song in my workout list.

Streets is good, but to me it's the greatest road trip song ever....

I ended up using:
Pop Muzik :dancing: (live)
Mofo (live)

Then I switched over to Zoo TV Dublin
Zoo Station
Even Better than the real thing :edge:
Until the end of the world
New year's day (great bridge)

trying to throw your arms around the world
Running to stand still
Where the streets have no name

Love is Blindness
Can't help falling in love with you (only just really discovered that song)
