Why is Please so underrated...I think its one of U2's most beautiful songs, both studio and especially live

Best song on POP IMO, pity the studio version wasn't better...single version is better than album though.

Well, maybe Gone is better...but it's close.

PLEASE IS BLOODY AMAZING ................

The Single Version is
THE LIVE VERSION IS  :drool:

What a live moment

Larry SBS drums ........ Edge's jammin ..... And the lyrics :

September ...... streets

November

December

Of We just started .........

That's breathtaking

Please kicks ass. The only ones underrating it is U2, by not playing it enough.

because it's on Pop.

and the general public and casual U2 fan doesn't know much about that album.

I got an acoustic version on the 3rd leg of the Elevation tour.

Because its one of the ending tracks on an album that by U2 standards didnt do very well sales wise but I think it holds its own against any of U2s classic tracks, however wont ever be thought of as such....unfortunatly.

acoustic version didnt do the song justice in my opinion

they need to bring back a full version, in place of bullet

ya, never got into the acoustic version. the POPMART version was the best, with Edge's guitar at the end

What's this "Pop" you speak of? Never heard of it. Is it the working title of U2's new album?

:sexywink:
I wish it was, i would love to have another POP album.

And Please is one of the best songs U2 has ever done.

It's right up there with Stay, One you name it.

Indeed or kick out Pride for a while. That song needs a rest as well.

 Along with Gone and SATS the highlight of Pop.
One of those songs where full-band and acoustic version both work live as well as album and single versions.

I'd have to say Please was the flattest, dullest song on the album. The best example of the production problems U2 had in putting Pop out. The single version was certainly an improvment, but the definative version is live.

As far as I'm concerned Please should have replaced SBS in every single post-1997 setlist.

Please is just sublime, the best song of Pop Album and surely one of the best ever U2 statements

I don't think it's really underrated by fans at all. U2 fans, especially here, seem to love it. If you're going by what's played on the radio, or what a person who owns one or two albums may think about it, well you've got to understand that the most general impression of U2 is that of a band that makes "rock anthems." Look at what's played on the radio----Beautiful Day, Streets, ISHFWILF, WOWY, PITNOL, One----the "rock anthems." You'll also get SBS, Mysterious Ways, and now Vertigo in there, too... But anyway, even though it seems like U2 is on the radio all the time right now, there's not that much variety. It's not that Please or other songs are really underrated, it's just that the the songs that seem to get the most attention are those of the same genre.

Anyway, Please kicks ass. Honestly, if and when I put on Pop, it's to listen to Please and Wake Up Dead Man.
