It's been a while since we've had one of these threads... I think. Anyway, I was listening to Placebo's version of The Smiths' "Bigmouth Strikes Again" and thought that they would do a bangup version of "Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me Kill Me."
So I figured I'd throw out some u2 covers I'd like to see happen.

Placebo - "Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me Kill Me"
Oasis - "Staring at the Sun"
Bruce Springsteen - "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For"
Coldplay - "A Sort of Homecoming"
Radiohead - "Please"
Ryan Adams - "Trip Through Your Wires"

Last year, when Agnetha Faltskog (ex-ABBA) released her first solo album in 17 years, she did a version of the song "What Now My Love" that sounded very much like U2 music, so I think she would do an awesome U2 cover.

Maybe "With Or Without You" or "City Of Blinding Lights" or "original Of The Species"

Coldplay - Original of the species / Gone
Green Day - I will follow

Robbie Williams has already made "One" in some live performances, I have to admit that it was quite good, but nothing compared to U2!!

Nine Inch Nails - Mofo
Metallica - The Fly
Coldplay - Trying To Throw Your Arms Around The World
Collective Soul - I Will Follow
Green Day - Vertigo
Oasis - Walk On

Metallica - The Fly, The Electric Co.
Bruce Springsteen - Bad, Hawkmoon 269 (that would be perfect!!!)
The Rolling Stones - Angel Of Harlem, Desire
David Bowie - Love Is Blindness, Daddy's Gonna Pay For Your Crashed Car
Al Green - In A Little While

Green Day doing I Will Follow or Vertigo would be something cool!

if anyone, i would LOVE to see THE KILLERS do a u2 song like I Will Follow, 11 O'Clock Tick Tock, or any old-school u2 song. they are big u2 fans and i'm sure they would bring the house down with any u2 cover.

Apparently Springsteen is now planning to cover 'Running To Stand Still, ' which just so happens to be my dream cover.

I heard Cher is picking up the Heart of Darkness set into her shows now.

The entire Joshua Tree by Dream Theatre, except subbing in Heartland for Trip Through Your Wires.
