6 von 10 hatte ich nach meinem ersten review verteilt. ich hebe es im moment mal auf 7 von 10 an, weil es irgendwo schon ein cooler track ist - auch wenn er mich nachwievor nicht vollends vom hocker haut. mir gefällt er doch schon deutlich besser als "beautiful day". vor allem weil er klar und nicht so super zugemixed ist. die trademark-gitarre klingt excellent klar. bei dem ding haben wir aber geschummelt. niemals klingt das so fett, ohne das wir die gitarren-spuren der bridge gedoppelt haben. bin ich mal gespannt ob das live auch so brettig rüberkommt.
an dieser stelle noch ein zusatz: das spanien-video find ich ja irgendwo richtig cool weil diese rauchschwaden super rüberkommen. das hat eigentlich nix mit dem song zu tun, aber seit dem find ich ihn irgendwie cooler. keine ahnung warum. also: ab sofort 7 von 10.

mir gefällt die gesangslinie und die dazu betont gespielt gitarre in der bridge/refrain wunderbar. die eigentliche linie kommt sehr gut raus. auch das schlagzeug mit den snare-schlägen zimmert gut rein. nach dem break und edge's slide solo kommt das nochmal einzeln besondern schön raus. bono steigt dann wieder wunderbar ein. das ganze wirkt dadurch auf mich sehr treibend. ich hatte ursprünglich nur 6 von 10 punkten vergeben. ich hebe dies an dieser stelle jetzt mal locker auf 9 von 10 an.

also die eunuchen-gesangslinie von edge und bono in der bridge ist einfach nur genial. nein, hier haben wir "ganz grosses tennis"! alleine deswegen ist der song schon der absolute hammer. von dieser gesangslinie lebt der gesamte song. dieses sanfte schlagzeug mit den hotrods/besen (oder was auch immer) macht sich da wunderbar. edge's pitchshifting-gitarre ist auch nicht zu aufdringlich und unterstützt die obertöne sehr harmonisch durch diesen klang. ist mir dreimal lieber wie eine normale uneffektierte gitarre. sie hätte die obertöne nie so deutlich rausgestellt und platz für die gesangsline gelassen. gefällt mir mittlerweile ausgezeichnet weil es sehr gut passt und deutlich dezenter wird. sehr songdienlich alles. weniger ist einfach mehr. okay, die gesangslinie bei 3:19 min ist natürlich nicht die neuerfindung des rades, aber es passt dennoch hervorragend an der stelle rein und bietet sich live auch für feuerzeugean. wichtig ist, dass es schön klingt. danach kommt die innovation. ich war anfangs schon sehr angetan - mir kam nur die innovation zu kurz - und hatte bereits 8 von 10 vergeben. jetzt greife ich eindeutig zur 10 von 10 - ganz grosses tennis! - und ist innovation ist mir echt schnuppe an dieser stelle.

nachwievor für ich ein möglicher tour-opener. diese seltsamen gitarren nach dem intro-break sind dunkel und böse. das gefällt mir. und der beat ist sowieso obercool. er gefiel mir schon damals. nur hatte ich beim ersten hören irgendwo den eindruck als wenn hier noch mehr drin gewesen wäre. mittlerweile habe ich mich damit abgefunden. die synthie-sirenen-gesänge welche an einen "fliegeralarm"-ton erinneren sind sehr fett. das lässt das ganze noch eine stufe böser klingen. mit den gepitchten synthie sounds beim break kann ich mich zwar im moment noch nicht anfreunden. das reingefilterte dance-re-intro ist auch noch nicht so ganz mein ding. aber ok. ich sehe hier dennoch entwicklungspotential für eine live-performance. eine anfängliche wertung von 4 von 10 hebe ich momentan mal auf 8 von 10 an.

also diese synthie-samples sind immer noch nicht mein fall - ich finde das passt nicht. auch stehe ich rein persönlich nicht auf diese gilmour/edge-80ties-gitarre bei der man möglichst nie den griff wechselt und immer nur palmmutes spielt. ich weiss das bei so einer gitarre vielen einer abgeht, ich finde es aber nun mal langweilig. das einzig positive in diesem song ist für mich die "ooh ooh ooh". das spätere break mit "time" ist auch noch recht schön anzuhören. ansonsten ist der song aber irgendwie langweilig. immer das gleiche nur in verschiedenen varianten.

also der song ist auch ned wirklich mein fall. weder haut mich die gitarre vom stuhl, noch der beat. da gefiel mir der gleiche beat mit "she's gonna blow your horse down" wirklich deutlich besser. der gesang wird aber sicherlich kultstatus erlangen. ich finde bono hier aber wirklich grotten schlecht und einfallslos. freue mich allerdings auch schon auf den moment wenn tausende von zuschauern diese betrunkenen-gesangslinie begeistert nachsingen werden. das einzig positive für mich in diesem song ist edge's solo. nein, hier werte ich sogar nochmal ab. definitv ned mein song.

also für den songtitel müsste es eigentlich schon mal prügel geben. sowas kann nur abgegriffen klingen. der song reisst das aber wieder raus. es ist sicherlich kein gänsehaut-song, aber ich finde gefallen ihm. er wirkt sehr beruhigend auf mich. die akustikgitarre gefällt mir und edge's trademark-delay-gitarre passt mit dem schlichten riff sehr schön rein. dazu der nette zweite gesang. hübsch. zum schluß verfallen wir zwar ein wenig in die b-seiten von "the joshua tree" was mir ehrlich gesagt wieder weniger taugt (vor allem die vocals, die bassline und drums sind mir zu sehr ähnlich zu den damaligen b-seiten). drum werte ich leider nach anfänglichem aufwerten wieder einen ab. der song hätte sich sonst eine echte 7 von 10 verdient.

okay, man nehme 500 gramm walk on gitarren-riff und spielt es mal auf längs und dazu packen wir 500 gramm von der rhythmus-gitarre + des drumbeats irgendeiner nummer der achtung baby outtakes (von dem mir gerade der name ned einfällt). hier wurde eindeutig aus altem material ein neuer song gestrickt. mir gefällt es aber. wer die outtakes jetzt nicht schon gekannt hat, dem fällt das ja auch eh gar nicht auf. auch keine neuerfindung des rades, aber ich mochte es schon in hamburg beim dem pre-listening event. aber bitte, bitte lasst es mit den glockenspiel. uaaagh. letzter song des live-gigs wird er ned. da hatte ich mich verschrieben. vollkommener quatsch meinerseites. das wird ein ganz anderer.

das piano-riff ist super. für mich wird dieser song das perfekte outro des live-konzerts. passt wunderbar. ein super rausschmeisser (was ich jetzt positiv meine! ). darauf lasse ich mich auch gerne festnageln. der refrain ist wieder "ganz grosses tennis!" auch die gitarre, welche - ähnlich wie bei der b-seite "unchained melody" in nahezu gleichem arrangement einsteigt. die streicher sind wunderschön und edge's bendings zur steigerung zum refrain klinge sehr songdienlich. also hier heben wir ganz klar an. das wird mal ein echter klassiker.

der drumbeat gefällt mir. das bringt dem song einen schönen groove. auch die gesangslinie in der strophe ist nett. insgesamt klingt der song so absichtlich nach 80ties abgemixed. alles etwas in richtung ambient. also ich finde es okay, stehe aber noch in meinen socken. dieses stark von den brillianten frequenzen kastrierte piano ganz hinten dickt das ganze sehr schön an. die gesangslinie zum ende des songs passt sehr schön. mag ich. der song lebt vom beat und dem gedoppelten vocals. ich werte dennoch mal um einen auf.

lange habe ich überlegt worin die ursache zu suchen ist, dass mir das album beim allerersten hören in hamburg so rein gar nicht gefallen wollte. war es meine tageslaune? hatte ich mein "mojo" in detmold vergessen? hat gar bulldozer mich abgelenkt? nein... das war es nicht. bulldozer saß die ganze zeit locker und entspannt samt seinem "mojo" neben mir und hörte interessiert zu und blätterte in seinem textheft. ich vermute die ursache eher in einem ganz klassischen problem vom "musik hören": die raumakustik und die eigene stimmung in der man sich befindet. bulldozer, kann es sein das wir das album auf dolby 5.blumenkohl pro logic dual thx vorgespielt bekommen haben? es waren nämlich meines wissens alle lautsprecher in betrieb. und das wird wohl schon mal die erste ursache für die enorme lautstärke (bei dem einem das gespür für die details der musik verloren geht) gewesen sein. ferner klang das album auch nicht gut abgemischt. ich habe hier zu hause mal den versuch gemacht mir das teil in multi-speaker-schaltungen anzuhören. das klang dann schon ganz anders. und das wird es zum einen sicherlich gewesen sein. der bass war vor ort mulmig und gesang setzte sich nicht wirklich durch. die gitarren waren komisch vom sound und vor allem die synthies klangen grottenschlecht. ich weiss nicht, ob die kollegen in berlin auf 'ner gescheiten hifi hören konnten, oder ob man dort auch probiert hat auf stereo gemixte alben mit aller gewalt auf multi-speaker-einstellungen abzuspielen.
ich lerne aus der sache jedenfalls: beurteile niemals alben auf anlagen wo du ned kennst. weil: eine anlage färbt den sound und somit die stimmung eines albums (vor allem wenn es einem noch unbekannt ist) doch deutlicher als man selbst auch nach 10 jahren musikerdasein glauben mag. das ist echt unglaublich.
die anordnung der tracks gefällt mir nachwievor nicht so perfekt. es ist aber okay. die jungs werden sich aber sicherlich was dabei gedacht haben (wie bei allem für gewöhnlich). ich persönlich hätte z. b. eher "love and peace or else" als track 2 gesetzt und dann die album-spassbremse "one step closer" als letzten track gesetzt. da sind mir so in dieser anordnung einfach noch zu viele auf's und ab's drin. im moment gefällt mir die bombe aber deutlich besser als "ATYCLB" und auch besser als "POP" und "ZOOROPA". und das liegt jetzt nicht unbedingt daran, dass die songs einfach nur "neu" sind, sondern vor allem daran das mir stellenweise einige parts auf dem album supergenial gefallen. ein beispiel ist die gesangslinie von "SYCMOYO. es gibt noch zahlreiche andere. der album lebt generell irgendwie rein gesanglich von den gedoppelten vocals. edge singt die vocallines von bono meistens mit einer anderen oktave mit um es fetter erklingen zu lassen. sehr hübsch. ich denke dieses album wird sicher prächtig verkaufen und schnell kultstatus erreichen. ich kann's kaum erwarten mir endlich meine T+A anlage zu ziehen und es vom echten glasmaster zu hören. denn die mp3's hat leider mal wieder irgendson tauber lamer geripped. transparenz weg, ambience weg, encoding-fehler, authentiztät flöten => mieser codec. aber wollen wir mal nicht gleich meckern. bin froh es schon vorab hören zu dürfen. *juhu*

ach so: und bitte erspart mir jetzt flames im stile von: "was bist du denn für'n lutscher! erst machst des fei runter und jetzt lobst des über den himmel!". ich habe durchaus den charakter mir selbst gemachte fehler auch später einzugestehen. und es war definitiv ein fehler sich einen ersten eindruck auf einer fremden anlage zu geben und danach ein review zu schreiben. ich hoffe das der momentane eindruck des albums nicht später in langeweile umschlägt. ich rechne momentan eher nicht damit.

lange habe ich überlegt worin die ursache zu suchen ist, dass mir das album beim allerersten hören in hamburg so rein gar nicht gefallen wollte. war es meine tageslaune? hatte ich mein "mojo" in detmold vergessen? hat gar bulldozer mich abgelenkt? nein... das war es nicht. bulldozer saß die ganze zeit locker und entspannt samt seinem "mojo" neben mir und hörte interessiert zu und blätterte in seinem textheft. ich vermute die ursache eher in einem ganz klassischen problem vom "musik hören": die raumakustik und die eigene stimmung in der man sich befindet. bulldozer, kann es sein das wir das album auf dolby 5.blumenkohl pro logic dual thx vorgespielt bekommen haben? es waren nämlich meines wissens alle lautsprecher in betrieb. und das wird wohl schon mal die erste ursache für die enorme lautstärke (bei dem einem das gespür für die details der musik verloren geht) gewesen sein. ferner klang das album auch nicht gut abgemischt. ich habe hier zu hause mal den versuch gemacht mir das teil in multi-speaker-schaltungen anzuhören. das klang dann schon ganz anders. und das wird es zum einen sicherlich gewesen sein. der bass war vor ort mulmig und gesang setzte sich nicht wirklich durch. die gitarren waren komisch vom sound und vor allem die synthies klangen grottenschlecht. ich weiss nicht, ob die kollegen in berlin auf 'ner gescheiten hifi hören konnten, oder ob man dort auch probiert hat auf stereo gemixte alben mit aller gewalt auf multi-speaker-einstellungen abzuspielen.
ich lerne aus der sache jedenfalls: beurteile niemals alben auf anlagen wo du ned kennst. weil: eine anlage färbt den sound und somit die stimmung eines albums (vor allem wenn es einem noch unbekannt ist) doch deutlicher als man selbst auch nach 10 jahren musikerdasein glauben mag. das ist echt unglaublich.
die anordnung der tracks gefällt mir nachwievor nicht so perfekt. es ist aber okay. die jungs werden sich aber sicherlich was dabei gedacht haben (wie bei allem für gewöhnlich). ich persönlich hätte z. b. eher "love and peace or else" als track 2 gesetzt und dann die album-spassbremse "one step closer" als letzten track gesetzt. da sind mir so in dieser anordnung einfach noch zu viele auf's und ab's drin. im moment gefällt mir die bombe aber deutlich besser als "ATYCLB" und auch besser als "POP" und "ZOOROPA". und das liegt jetzt nicht unbedingt daran, dass die songs einfach nur "neu" sind, sondern vor allem daran das mir stellenweise einige parts auf dem album supergenial gefallen. ein beispiel ist die gesangslinie von "SYCMOYO. es gibt noch zahlreiche andere. der album lebt generell irgendwie rein gesanglich von den gedoppelten vocals. edge singt die vocallines von bono meistens mit einer anderen oktave mit um es fetter erklingen zu lassen. sehr hübsch. ich denke dieses album wird sicher prächtig verkaufen und schnell kultstatus erreichen. ich kann's kaum erwarten mir endlich meine T+A anlage zu ziehen und es vom echten glasmaster zu hören. denn die mp3's hat leider mal wieder irgendson tauber lamer geripped. transparenz weg, ambience weg, encoding-fehler, authentiztät flöten => mieser codec. aber wollen wir mal nicht gleich meckern. bin froh es schon vorab hören zu dürfen. *juhu*

before you critizise my reviews you should first read and understand the text. unfortunately the time doesn't allow me to write a translation of the re-review and my recent review.

I was just curious, because many of us figured he'd change his rating in a big way after hearing it just once.

Umm, doesn't my vote count?? I don't really care what Phaser has to say about the new album, all I know is that to me it is hovering around 9/10. Now you can all stop worrying about this phaser guy because I like the new album, a lot.
