can't get it yet afaik. it's going to be on craig armstrong's new album, which i think is coming out April 15 or something

Oh so it's just a cover of it?
I thought it might of been a totally reworked version of it done by U2 themselves.

No, I believe Bono & Edge are on the track.
It's not a cover. Craig Armstrong generally works with guest vocalists.

Yeah Bono and Edge will be playing on it. Craig Armstrong is more of a composer than a musician.. he did the score for Moulin Rouge among other movies, and was in charge of string arrangement for Massive Attack (wicked band)
