What would you pick to be the first single from each album?

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.

Get me a job as U2's setlist designer and I promise you that awesomeness shall be done on the opening night.

Or, yeah, that. :lmao:

Have you heard either the Junk Day or Bitter Kiss versions? They're substantial improvements on the album version - really, I can't grasp quite why they put that shocking version on the album. It's a great song, and would serve well as a single, but is poorly represented on the album.

No I haven't actually. thefonz_29@hotmail.com is my email address... :flirt: Is the drumming better?

Zooropa: Dirty Day, though it would need a better vocal track

And a better guitar track without all the effect that kills its rock and roll--THAT is why the live version is infinitely better: the live version has big nasty hairy balls to it.

Comercially and conceptually I think it should be like this:

Boy: I Will Follow
October: Gloria
War: Sunday Bloody Sunday
The Unforgetable Fire: Pride
The Joshua Tree: Where The Streets Have No Name
Rattle And Hum: Desire
Achtung Baby: The Fly
Zooropa: Numb
Pop: Mofo
All That You Can't Leave Behind: Beautiful Day
How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb: Vertigo

Me:

Boy: The Electric Co.
October: Gloria
War: Sunday Bloody Sunday
The Unforgetable Fire: Bad
The Joshua Tree: Where The Streets Have No Name
Rattle And Hum: Desire
Achtung Baby: The Fly
Zooropa: Numb
Pop: Last Night On Earth
All That You Can't Leave Behind: Beautiful Day
How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb: Vertigo

I was watching the Paris dvd again last night.

After watching it, I still can't believe there was a leg of a tour where Streets never made it in the setlists every night. Obviously, they must of thought at some point then that it wasn't even going to be a single. It is amazing looking back then and wondering who made that decision to take out Streets from the live show.

Sorry, if I derailed this a bit.

I think the band made great choices for lead off singles for the most part.
The only ones I would of changed:

Pop - Last Night on Earth
Zooropa - Stay (I would of done exactly what they did with the JT and have a ballad-type lead off)

Boy: Out of Control
October: Gloria
War: Sunday Bloody Sunday
The Unforgettable Fire: Pride
The Joshua Tree: Where The Streets Have No Name
Rattle & Hum: Desire
Achtung Baby: The Fly
Zooropa: Zooropa
Pop: Mofo
ATYCLB: Beautiful Day
HTDAAB: City Of Blinding Lights
