The New Mexico desert. But I was in Joshua Tree a few years ago and I swear there's a UFO in a picture I took, which has nothing to do with anything...

The New Mexico desert is beautiful...I was going to say COLD but we've got a snow advisory for the Mojave, so...!!!

UFOs in Joshua Tree....of course! After all, Giant Rock Airport is a just a few miles away (once known for its UFO sightings)....and the infamous Integratron....

Yep, we do get four seasons here. Hasn't been too cold this winter, though.

At last, validation on my UFO picture. I didn't really know Joshua Tree had a history of UFO sightings. And I didn't actually see a UFO while I was there, but something freaky showed up in a photo.

My honest opinion is I used to love it, I like it less now. One of my less favourite songs on JT. I still like it, but it sounds a bit more like "standard U2" than a lot of other songs, to me.

But the solo does convey wide open blue skies to me...and the lyrics are great.

It's a good song. Definetly not one of their best, but I like it.

I love this song. It has that raw rock and roll energy that a lot of their Eno/Lanois work lacks. It's an assault of sound, but it's still very controlled and streamlined. Definitely one of the best off the Joshua Tree, and I would have put it on the 80's greatest hits before a lot of others (ie, The Unforgettable Fire, When Love Comes to Town...).

In God's Country is amazing. And even more amazing was being at the Phoenix show when they played it for the first time in 15 years!!!

I love that song. I wish they had started playing it before the last few shows of the Elevation tour, but I'm glad they did finally play it again. I'm surprised it took 12 years for it to return to the setlists. Could Trip Through Your Wires be next?

Am I the only one who doesn't care for this song? The lyrics are very nice...picturesque....but not one of his best. I always skip this song. Especially since it follows something as heavy as Red Hill Mining Town. What can I say?

OzAurora,
Oh my goodness, I wish you could have been there!!! It was so awesome!!! All of a sudden, Edge started playing this song acoustically, and there were a few screams here and there-my friends and I were freaking out-but when Bono came in with the words....man, I swear some people had to have gone deaf. It was sooo fantastic!!! And living all my life in Arizona, and hearing the song played after it had not been for so long, in Phoenix, I was filled with a sense of pride of being a desert girl!! I have a bootleg, but I have no idea how to do anything with it, but I'll definitely ask my friend who is a lot more computer savvy than I am if there is a way to send you an MP3 or something!!!
Love,
SloMo
