He was laughing and pointing! Did you notice the reactions by Bono and Edge when those guys with the weird hair and bloody bulletholes in their heads were on stage? I think U2 are just as disgusted by this crap as we are.

I dont think I have ever been so disgusted watching anything on TV EVER! I sat there and said ANYONE nominated but N Stink! God, what has happened to the music industry??!! It is VERY sad! A bunch of teeny boppers put together by a fat millionaire who do not write music, do not play instruments and actually sing maybe 1/3 of their songs live in concert, how on earth do they beat out people with real talent. I find it amusing (and I think U2 did also judging by their reaction) that they got beat by a video that was a complete rip-off of the PopMart concept, which incidentally, was criticized by the US media to no end but now it's great because N'Sync is doing it and they get great ratings for MTV

I think we need some perspective here. MTV is viewed, for the most part, by the teen-aged crowd. Naturally, the network will want the NSYNC's of the world to go home with the goods. That U2 was nominated for these crap awards actually made me cringe a little. I liked it better when U2 kept their distance from these "pop" acts. The Grammy's are all you need to worry about, and I think we went 3 for 3 that night. Jackass is the only redeeming quality MTV has.

Actually we should be happy. Did we actually wanted U2 to win? Sure, a couple of years ago it was sort of prestige winning an MTV-award. But nowadays when you know that there are mostly 10-year old popkids who are voting, didn?t you see this coming?

But I must admit, it IS pathetic "losing" the award to a fakegroup... but hey, it?s MTV!!!
