KROQ is doing its semi-regular 106.7 Biggest Bands of All Time countdown Memorial Day weekend and is currently taking votes. I know these types of polls don't really mean that much but if there is enough support for U2, not only can the band top the list but KROQ may actually start playing U2 on a regular basis again (this did happen in the past, Metallica was never a KROQ band but enough fans voted the band onto this list that KROQ was pretty much forced to throw Metallica into regular rotation). And U2 is pictured on the box linking to the poll. Must be a sign.

Here's the details from the station:

x3?? anyway, I've seen worst list.
It's really typical of radio.

KROQ plays RHCP's sooo much. Even Kevin and Bean, the morning talk show hosts on the station, make fun of that.

#8 isn't too bad considering KROQ hardly play U2 except when they release a new album or are on tour in the L.A. area.

They were #4 last time I think.

That list is horrible, I'm sorry for anyone who has to listen to that radio station.

I stopped listening to KROQ years ago b/c it just sucks now, nowhere near it's glory days of the 80s.

The funny thing is, I still vote in these polls. U2 keeps slipping every year. It'll be a sad day for my long-gone-youth when they don't even make the Top 10.

Plus, Depeche Mode not in the Top 5!!!??? I'm not the hugest DM fan, but Los Angeles and especially KROQ LOVE Depeche Mode! I'm really surprised they didn't make the Top 5, though I'm not surprised they beat U2, since, at least in KROQ polls, DM always bests U2.
