The line on the horizon. Wait! Noooooo!!!...
We've had Miami and New York so far.

What do all think U2's next city song should be?

My vote is for Malad Idaho. AKA the armpit of the universe.

Seriously, I think U2 could do a cool song about Las Vegas.

"And you become a monster, so the monster will not break you."

Maybe Vegas. But nothing is like New York. Bought the album a month before I moved here and its the theme song of my life at that point. Although its U2 so that tends to happen alot to me.

Bono promised us a song about Chicago during one of the first leg gigs.

I really hope that they don't do any more of these - it can get pretty cheesy pretty quickly. New York made me wince when I first heard it and now that it's become "meaningful," that makes it even worse. Personally, I really do not like the lyrics in this song at all.

Instead, they should do a country song. No, not country and western, but a song about a country. I think it should be about Djibouti.

I've prepared some sample lyrics to better make my case:

I saw my angel
on a quiet night
she looked at me
and I thought I might
Get some booty
Yeah, I saw my cutie
It was in Djibouti

Her skin was velvet
lit like Porcelain
She was so beautiful
She kicked me in the shin
no way I could win
There in Djibouti

CHICAGO

------------------
"Miami, New Orleans, London, Belfast, CHICAGO!" ~ Bono (during Stay) at Chicago 10/16/01

"Home, that's where Chicago is!" ~ Bono (during Walk On) at Chicago 10/16/01

Toronto!!

I know that the boys seriously love Canada, and especially the center of it!!

"I don't know about you, but I feel good about the fact that I still haven't found what I'm looking for"-Bono, 1987

"Be uncool, yes be akward!"

Toronto. They love Canada. Canada deserves it. They never get anything good. There's already two songs about places in the States. Be fair. Share.

PErsonally, I think they should make a song about the life of deathbear

----------
-spawn of deathbear

None.

I don't like either of their "city" songs. The dislike I feel for "Miami" almost borders on hatred.

How about not an American city, for a change?

How about Vancouver?

Or maybe Cairo...man, I want to go to Egypt. But I don't really see the Irish band singing about an African-Arabic country...

Your sun so bright it leaves no shadows, only scars
Carved into stone on the face of earth
The moon is up and over One Tree Hill
We see the sun go down in your eyes

D.C.

Bono spends enough time here......for some reason without telling ME first....hm.

LOVE me, give me SOUL

"Rock n Roll never tasted so good" ~Bono

"For the good of the nation ~ you MUST defile Bono" ~Echo
Get on the Boos

Many have I loved
Many times been bitten
Many times I've gazed
Along the open road.

DC, that was a great song!

here's the U2 song about the area in which I live (note: this is not intended to be good poetry).

Dallas
She was a red hot fire
With a voice from an angel choir
Alice
Alice lives in Dallas.

Dallas
The metropolis for sin
only cheaters win
Malice
Malice lives in Dallas.

as much as i would like to say U2 gives their best shows to my old town, imo U2 are at their canadian best when in montreal.

What would they sing? "Ah Montreal. So beautiful and ripe. Too bad you're poisioned within a province that wants nothing more than to separate from Canada?"

well i would say montreal has been dealing with the threat pretty well for the length of time the threat has existed. still canada's most vibrant city, imo.
