U2's sexiest song

I think I'll just shake my head and walk away before I say anything I regret.

starsgoblue, axver, I know what both of you mean. Tend to agree more with axver about Bullet, though.

When I first became a fan (1983; I was 17), sex and music seemed to me totally unrelated. Different types of love. Completely different. But I don't think that way anymore. Both are ways of connecting, for a start. (I'm talking about the whole experience of sexuality, not just the act of coitus, in case that's not clear.)

But I'm getting a bit pompous now, better shut up. Going off to look at the poems in Dream out Loud.

Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me Kill Me
listen to Bono in outro right at the end....that's pretty ermm...well you'll understand

I often fast forward to that part. Just because.

And U2's version of Pop Muzik has some interesting Bono sounds as well...

No no no, U2's sexiest song is without a doubt Some Days Are Better Than Others. Adam's base is absolutley the sexiest thing ever to come out of a U2 song.

If you looped the first 10 seconds of that song, it could be the soundtrack to a porno movie. :eyebrow:

So many to choose from!
With or Without You
Bullet the Blue Sky (when Bono is just talking, and Edge's part is climactic)
All I Want Is You (so romantic!)
Numb (Edge's deep voice  )
Even better than the real thing
Hold me thrill me kiss me kill me
You'll may think this is weird, but "40" (I love me a God lovin' man!)
Mysterious Ways
The Sweetest Thing (Because I get flashbacks of that adorable video!)
In conclusion, all of them are sexy because the songs are so deep and meaningful which is sexy, and U2 is just so sexy!

Hawkmoon 269.

Powerful lyrics, powerful drums.

Like a desert needs rain
Like a town needs a name
...
Like a rhythm unbroken
Like drums in the night
...
Like coming home
And you don't know where you've been
Like black cofee
Like nicotine
...
When the night has no end
And the day yet to begin
As the room spins around
I need your love

Like a Phoenix rising
Needs a holy tree
Like the sweet revenge
Of a bitter enemy
I need your love

This is sexy!
I really love it

Why is that nobody ever talks about this song?

Actually, it's not quite that. I simply don't like songs about sex. I don't like anything about sex, really. It's not something I care for, and I'd rather my music focus on more serious topics. I can respect songs such as All I Want Is You because they show the dark side of emotions and reveal the truth about life. I love If You Wear That Velvet Dress because of the spiritual interpretation I am fond of. I love Even Better Than The Real Thing because it can be seen as a song about the false reality created by the media. You get my point.

Yes, I realise I'm weird.

Ya know what the real thing is about !!!??? It's about sex.!!!.......Bono sings:"I'm gonna blow right through you like a breeze".....and what about" I'm gonna ride on the waves that you bring".......:censored:

I tend to agree. I always thought the song was about a man trying to have an affair.

Hmm, that's an interesting interpretation.

Yeah, I've always felt that the character in the song is apprehensive about this, like maybe they've tried to hook up before but it hasn't worked out so that's why he asks for "One more chance and you'll be satisfied." And then when he says, "The sun won't melt our wings tonight," I feel like that must be referring to the wife because Bono has used that sun imagery to describe Ali before. And then the whole chorus of "You're even better than the real thing" just makes me think that the character in the song is screwing around with someone other than his wife.

Disclaiming to say, I don't know if this interpretation is accurate, I don't know if the "I" in U2 songs always refers to Bono or the other members of the band, and I know nothing about the state of any of their personal relationships. This is just the read I get off the song.

No disclaimer needed, everyone gets different connections to different songs.

For example I always thought "The sun won't melt our wings tonight" to be a reference to the Greek legend about Icarus. :p

I'm not sure what the song on a whole is about...but I definetly see it as breaking free from something...

Agree...

But the song 'One', is it also a little bit about sex? How do you interprete "Did I disappoint you? Or leave a bad taste in your mouth" Ahum...

This song's about the breaking up of a relationship. Among other things, I think this is the most obvious. I don't think this is a love song, as some people tend to, but I think it's a song about love, or the end of it.

"Leave a bad taste in your mouth" relates to something he's done that hurt the other person.

I don't take "or leave a bad taste in your mouth" too literally. I think it's used metaphorically to mean "did I do something that cannot be forgiven?" I think "One" is about love. It can relate to a couple breaking up, but it most likely relates to how the world as a whole is. "We hurt each other and we do it again". That can go to deeper things like war. "sisters, brothers" also tells that the song is supposed to go much deeper than a romantic couple. So, yes, it's about love, but I don't think it's entirely about romantic love. And it's certainly not about sex!
