Is Dante's Inferno considered Western literature? If not, use Heart of Darkness which is based on Dante's Inferno. The Inferno is referenced in Wild Horses "oh the deeper I spin, oh the hunter will sin for your ivory skin, took a drive in the dirty rain, to a place where the wind calls your name, etc. etc." actually, that is pretty close to both the Inferno and H of D. Try that.
