after recently discovering the bravery's version of an cat dubh (which is pretty damn good by the way, IMO), i was wondering what other U2 songs have been covered by other bands/artists?

There is a thread running in Music on the internet with some links to some u2 covers, though alot will likely have expired

The first one that comes to mind is Johnny Cash's version of 'One'. Amazing.

ugh i hate that cover! but his cover of NIN's Hurt has got to rival Hendrix's cover of AATWT as one of the best covers ever!

I downloaded Clay Aiken's version of Where The Streets Have No Name the other day and I only have one word for it...

travesty. absolute travesty.

Check this cd out: 'Pride in the name of love'

It's a compilation of Christian bands covering U2 songs (in aid of an African charity). Some of these are actually pretty decent, and interesting takes on the originals.

1. Sunday, Bloody Sunday - Pillar
2. Beautiful Day - Sanctus Real
3. 40 - Starfield
4. Love Is Blindness - Sixpence None The Richer
5. Gloria - Audio Adrenaline
6. Grace - Nichole Nordeman
7. All I Want Is You - Jars Of Clay
8. Mysterious Ways - TobyMac
9. Pride (In The Name of Love) - Delirious?
10. One - TAIT
11. With or Without You - Grits (featuring Jadyn)
12. When Love Comes to Town - Todd Agnew
13. Where the Streets Have No Name - Chris Tomlin

nice...where can i find these covers? i'm not very savvy about these things.

thank you so much!

i just finished listening to keane and right now i'm listening to elvis costello's "please"... both are quite nice! i always appreciate a good cover of a u2 song.
