Please don't shoot him. He's just an intern.
In life, great things happen when talented people get together and merge their creative abilities to work on a project. Unfortunately, this is not one of those times.

I present to you, the Interference Vertigo, Discotheque, Until the End of the World, Where the Streets have no name, Lemon, The Fly, Fast Cars, and Electric Co. Sing-a-Longs:

http://stockholm-syndrome.com/bluecrack/

Credit goes to Chizip for the editing work, GibsonGirl, discotech, and nuke126 for the fine guitar work, Queen Bee for the album cover art and hosting capabilities, and many Interferencers for the mediocre (and sometimes crappy) singing.

And very special props to PlaTheGreat for editing the Discotheque video featured on the website :flirt:

Enjoy!!!!

By the way, I don't know if we've announced this, but our plan is to do 8 more songs to finish off the Deaf Jams album, giving it a total of 12.

Fucking hilarious! I just hope the horrible offkeyness by some members and the horrible lack of any sense of rhythm at times are part of the editing... part of the 'art' if you will!

fucking hilarious... i love the Eagle playing the guitar in Discotheque

Guys, maybe I'm being mean but...what happened?! :|
It's alright to sing off-key and such, but some of these vocals were just flat and uninspired! If you're going to participate, put some passion behind your voice.

Queen Bee said:
Thank you . I mean, come on, that was Streets. How can people sound so dull and uninspired :slant:

I am  now.
That was mean.
And it slightly pisses me off as well.

How do you know that people aren't trying their hardest?
I know I am.

And correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't this meant to be funny bad to begin with.

Damn, things really have taken a serious turn.

Queen Bee said:
Aaaand people need to listen to the song before recording their parts. I will address these issues when we premiere the next project tomorrow :dancing:

Lila64 said:
I would not only listen before recording, but possibly during as well. I think we (Maddy & I) will be on the next one... :hyper:

I listened before and during the recording of my part, but to the CD version.
So now my part ain't really working well with the backing track.
That's disappointing.
I am cry again.

It probably would have been better if everybody had re-recorded their part like Azor suggested.
He already said that everybody that sung to the CD version would be off key from the live version (back track).
But Chizip thought that wasn't necessary.

You can definitely tell that the last part (which was re-recorded with people listening to a live version) is much better than the first part.

One more thing: I almost can't hear my recording.
It sounds so soft compared to others.

Why is that?
Was my recording static?

Perhaps I should turn up the mic volume (it's nowhere near the max yet).

Uhh, I never specifically mentioned anyone but if you thought your performance was flat and/or dull then maybe somewhere deep down you know you can do better.
There's nothing wrong with going off-key, out of tempo (slightly, it messes up the rhythm if you're REALLY off) or in a completely wacky voice. But why volunteer to sing if you are just gonna sing like a robot?
Unless you are a funnay robot.
Domo arigato, Mr. Roboto.

It's no different than auditioning for a part in a play and having the director ask you to perform it with more feeling. It's a song! And not only a song but perhaps the greatest Live U2 song, EVER! You should be jumping up and down, belting it out and not worried about how ridiculous it might sound!

As far as the "serious turn" comment goes, you seem to be the only one taking it personally. It was a blanket statement, jeez. If you can't hear the flatness in the song perhaps you should be a Bon Jovi fan. Bon Jovi is rockin' flat!

Disclaimer:
Any usage of "you" does not mean "you." Or can mean you. If you're paranoid. Did that "you" mean YOU? Perhaps. Or not at all.

:) It's not even necessary to re-record everything again, just to pitch the backing track as the album version and then, while listening to it, re-record the last lines (the lines of the live version, like "looove looove"). That's all, that would make the song a lot better.

But as chizip said, there's a difference between "funny bad" and "bad bad". Remember that we're trying to do our best.

well actually i care a lot less about key and pitch and more about clear and enthusiastic clips

someone submitting a way off key, but clear and enthusiastic clip is muuuuuch better than someone sumbitting a staticy monotone clip

and like Sicy said, this is just supposed to be fun, so no more seriousness or getting angry in these threads

thanks!

:) I'm with you, but I'm only concerned about the people like me that tried to do the best and sung tuned, and then that we heard to the recording our lines are all messed up :|

Btw, do you need more backing tracks etc? I have a few "karaoke" tracks that aren't too bad. I'm happy to upload if needed. Some do include backing vocals. Got the following:

Wild Honey, In a Little While, Wild Horses, All Along the Watchtower, Helter Skelter, Mothers of the Disappeared, In God's Country, Stuck, Elevation, Beautiful Day, All I want is You, Staring at the Sun, Last Night on Earth, Please, New Year's Day, With or Without You, Stay, Sweetest Thing, Sunday, Bloody Sunday, One, Still Haven't Found, Even Better... and Angel of Harlem

Let me know :)

Couldn't have summed myself up better:

Paranoid.
Always taking things personally.
Serious.
A robot.
Not funny.
And dull.

:applaud:

I know you never mentioned anyone specifically.

And I didn't think nor did I say that I thought my performance was flat or dull.
I liked how I sang it without the backing track.

But now listening to it in the song, I don't like how it sounds.
For starters, it's not loud enough.
So yes (no need to go deep down), my part could have been better.

Then again, maybe not.
Turns out there might be a problem with my ears.
I like plenty of Bon Jovi songs.

But, but ...... there was so much more I wanted to say! (not really, but hey ;) )

:scream:

Damn!

:uhoh:

What did Chizip say again?
No more seriousness or getting angry?

No more REAL sing with me game for me then, I guess.

For the next few songs anyway.
I've done 2 in a row.
Time to step back and let others participate.
