U2 Rocks

Sure it's been done in one form or another about a billion times, but what the hell, it's a monday.

If you could only do a ten track disk and wanted just "rock" songs, what would the ten be? So, no ballads, no bluesy or jazzy tracks. Don't come here with Your Blue Room or Stateless. Up tempo only, no slow or mid tempo songs. What are your ten favorite rocking U2 tracks?

1. Streets
2. I Will Follow
3. One Tree Hill (borderline I know; but the end makes the grade)
4. Beautiful Day
5. Vertigo
6. City Of Blinding Lights
7. Electrical Storm (Band Version)
8. Two Hearts Beat As One
9. Zoo Station
10. Surrender

The Fly & HMTMKMKM should make the list, but I'm totally sick of these songs at the mo.

Oh... what the hell, I'll do another one.

This has better overall album representation.

1. Daddy's Gonna Pay For Your Crashed Car
2. The Fly
3. Mofo
4. Acrobat
5. In God's Country
6. New Years Day
7. Like A Song
8. Rejoice
9. Desire
10. Electric Co.

I think the intro to DGPFYCC makes for a good opening. And the faux outro to Electric Co. is perfect at the end.

Well some of them seem to "rock" way more in the live arrangements, so:

HMTMKMKM (Rock 2000 Remix)
The Fly (live from anything)
Love and Peace (live from Vertigo Tour)
Electric Co (live from Vertigo Tour)
Gone (live from Elevation Tour)
Last Night On Earth (Live from Mexico City, PopMart)
Please > Streets (live from PopMart)
Desire > All Along The Watchtower (live from LoveTown)

Those last four are inseperable in their pairs

Axver I rather like your listing! The only change I'd make would be to add LAPOE, but I don't want to replace it with any of the 10 songs you chose! Dilemna!

I think Axver's list is better off without LAPOE.

I considered LAPOE but I didn't really have a good place to put it so it was cut pretty early.

The one I'm annoyed I omitted is Twilight, but I don't want to change that tracklisting. And of course, I just realised there's no Wire. Oh, what the hell, here's a second one:

1. Love And Peace Or Else
2. The Fool
3. The Dream Is Over
4. Wire
5. Twilight
6. Last Night On Earth
7. Until The End Of The World
8. Acrobat
9. Exit
10. Out Of Control

That's what I was thinking.....to limit to ONLY ten songs is nearly impossible! Good choices again!

Definitely an impossible limit! I've decided to make a live version (this re-uses a few songs I've already used):

1. Mofo (23 September 1997, Sarajevo)
2. Desire (27 September 1989, Sydney)
3. All Along The Watchtower (27 September 1989, Sydney)
4. Bullet The Blue Sky (11 August 1993, London)
5. God Part II (23 November 1989, Yokohama)
6. Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me (31 July 1997, Mannheim)
7. The Fly (20 September 2005, Chicago)
8. The Electric Co. (20 September 2005, Chicago)
9. Exit (18 November 1987, Los Angeles)
10. 11 O'clock Tick Tock (5 June 1983, Denver)

Mindblowingly good rocking stuff.
