Jonathan Ross just listed his guests for next week, and there were 3 of them (as there usually is) "plus music from the great u2" So i'm guessing they won't be talking on the sofa this time around, and maybe we'll just get the one song performed at the end. GOYB I guess.

U2 on Jonathan Ross, (Friday 28th)

U2 will be performing on Friday night with Jonathan Ross next week,
it is still unknown if the band will do an interview.

don't think they will be doing an interview though! as he has 3 other guests plus music from U2 shame!

On sky it doesnt say the "plus music" it just states that they will be part of his guests.

JR nearly always has 3 guests plus "music" the taping is over 3 hours so anyone lucky enough to be in there is in for a treat!!
They will be interviewed the same as last time.

U2 at the BBC - Additional Info!

Zane Lowe mentioned on Friday that he will be interviewing U2 on his Monday night show on BBC Radio 1FM at 7.00pm UK/Irish local time.

The Culture Show - as has already been reported U2 will be appearing on the Culture Show on BBC 2 on Tuesday night - but the Tuesday night programme is only a 30 minute summary programme. An extended 45 minute version of the show, presumably with additional live footage and interview will be screened on Friday night (Feb 27th) on BBC 2 at 12.05am (5 minutes past midnight) UK/Irish local time.

Thanks.

Monday show isn't this monday (tomorrow), right?

U2 are on French TV station Canal Plus tomorrow, they will perform two songs and give an interview. Will last about half an hour.

Unicorn, thanks for the info about Canal plus, do you have a time for that programme?
The BBC Culture Show will also feature 3 tracks performed in the Live Room at Hanover Quay a couple of weeks back.

Here's the line-up of U2's promotional dates (from U2.com), in case nobody's posted this already:

It's a big, big week for U2.... and here's some of the highlights.

After the Echo show in Berlin last night the band went out for dinner with Michael Mittermeier, film director Wim Wenders and musician Herbert Gronemeyer.

Today the band arrived in Paris ahead of some French promotional work, including a live performance for Le Grand Journal on Canal Plus on Monday night.

They then head for London where there's lots going on in the next few days. If you're in the UK open your calendars.

First up Monday when new tracks from the album will be aired on Jo Whiley's Radio 1 show (10am-12.45pm) and on Edith Bowman's show (1-4pm).

On Tuesday tune in to Zane Lowe (7pm) when his guests include Bono and Edge.

Then switch off the radio and turn on the TV - at 10pm BBC2's The Culture Show has a special focus the new album - and later in the week, on Friday, there's an extended version of the show, with even more U2, starting at 11.30pm.

Friday also sees a special Radio 1 'Live Lounge' with U2 broadcasting from the BBC Theatre at Broadcasting House. Tune in between 10am and 12.45pm.

That same afternoon check out Chris Evans's drivetime show on Radio 2 - the band are in the studio with him.

And then finish the week with the TV again - they'll be performing two songs on the Jonathan Ross show which goes out on BBC1 at 10.30pm (That's just before the extended edition of The Culture Show (id we mention that ?) at 11.30pm - over on BBC2.

Got all that ?

Like we said - it's a big week!

Wow, tight schedule.

Thank you for posting! I wanted to suggest we'd have a thread where we collect the promo activities coming up.

And I was wondering if U2 went to bed after their Echo performance because they were gone so fast afterwards.

U2 will be on French TV tomorrow, guess they taped that today since they will be on British radio tomorrow, too.

wow, I'm confused, so much of it. How is it with Zane Lowe?, one says Monday, another Tuesday... well, anyway,I guess I'll not watch/listen to anything where they'll play new song cos I want to hear them first when I buy the CD on Friday.

Back after a long weekend.

What's the go over the next few days?

How likely are we to hear other songs live? How long until the next promo performance?

BBC rolls out the red carpet for U2 - Telegraph

BBC rolls out the red carpet for U2

With a new album to promote U2, the Irish rock band, is desperate for publicity – and it seems that the BBC is only too happy to oblige after agreeing to sign the band for half a dozen appearances in the space of five days.

But the Corporation faces criticism from the Commons culture select committee when it questions whether the BBC has broken guidelines by giving Bono blanket coverage, Mandrake can disclose. Nigel Evans, the Tory MP, describes it as "the sort of publicity money can't buy" and will raise the issue tomorrow when the Culture select committee next meets, to see if the BBC has breached official guidelines.

Evans says: "Why should licence fee payers shoulder the cost for U2's publicity? They wouldn't pay for this level of exposure on a commercial channel. Mark Thompson should investigate it."

From today U2 will be on BBC One, BBC Two, Radio 1, Radio 2 and Radio 4. There will also be a live U2 concert broadcast on Radio 1 on Friday and there's even a rumoured "impromptu" gig on top of Bush House, in homage to the Beatles' 1969 rooftop concert in central London.

Has U2 ever done a "live at the bbc" ? or ?"

For all Mercy lovers, mail the interviewer and ask him to ask the band about Mercy :) The more mails about it, the bigger chance that he ask them.
