Either last night or this morning's (can't remember which, I have a one-year old that wakes up at all hours, so the days just run 2gether) SportsCenter had a U2 reference:

The sportscaster used some "40" lyrics in describing some MLB player's 40th home run of the year. It went something like " (Players's Name) .... How long to sing this song? 40!!! (Player's Name) hits his 40th home run of the year!

I thought it was cool.

I saw that, too! I LOL'd. I like SportsCenter exactly for those random pop culture things they throw in there.

Would have been better when Big Papi hit his 40th, especially the "see & fear" part...but that is pretty cool.

I'm guessing everyone saw the old Sportsguy article on espn.com, about "who's the U2 of sports?"
