for some song from A Mighty Wind...

and you thought losing to Eminem was strange...

hopefully we all realize that U2 doesn't deserve EVERY award their nominated for.

The Grammys are a joke anyway. I don't give them the time of day.

i have a dream that one day all music can be recognized not for the stupid label given to the artist whom sings it, but for the content of the song. then once and for all, good pop song shall stay, bad pop songs that are just around because the singer is eye candy shall leave, and we shall all accept good music for what it's worth, wether it be pop, rock, rap, r&b, country, or cujo's favorite, disco... while at the same time accepting that there is tons of crappy pop, rock, rap, r&b, country, and sorry cuj, disco out there that many people listen to and they're not really sure why.

thank you for your time, and may the deity of your choice bless america.

Who cares? It's not as embarsassing as losing to a bunch of rednecks (O Brother) for album of the year a couple of years back. That was U2's most embarrassing loss to date - and Dylan's too. How can an accomplished band like U2 lose to a bunch of country hicks?

Cheers,

J

Right Jick-Anyone who makes country, bluegrass, or americana is a redneck. Piss on that. You must hate the fact U2 recorded w/ Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, "Cowboy" Jack Clement, BB King. "Oh Brother" was a good record as well, and U2 have been buddies w/ T-Bone Burnett for years.

I didn't say all country music sucks. Just because an artist has recorded with U2 doesn't add to his credibility. Aguilera did What's Going On with Bono, I still see her as a no-talent bimbo. It just so happened ATYCLB lost to a poorly assembled cast of country artists in an otherwise incohesive album. But it wasn't only U2's loss - it was also Dylan's and the rest of the nominees. What a shame, no wonder 99% of the people here say the Grammies have no credibility - they certainly don't.

Cheers,

J

dylan and u2 split the rock vote, baisicly canceling each other out, allowing said o brother "hicks" to sneak in there, sort of what happened with Coldplay and Clocks this year... they were the only rock song up, all the rap songs canceled each other out.

Cheers,
