Well I have been debating getting a DVD player. I guess this seals it, with the DVD of Star Wars Ep I and the U2 DVD's coming out in the next couple of months I will HAVE to have one.

I wonder what the bonus tracks are on Disc 2 that they dont indicate what they are? I also wonder when we are going to get the B side that was suppose to go with Elevation before it was put on the Tomb Raider soundtrack "The Sun, The Moon and The Stars"?

Also, did anyone else notice it says 19 songs? They played 21 that night so it is not the entire show unfortunately if this is correct.

Well, to have all of those features, one needs to have a DVD. Plus, the sound will be far superior on a DVD than on VHS.

As for not having a DVD player, these days, many computers come with them (DVD-ROM's). Do you have a need for a computer or can you borrow one? Also, DVD players have become very inexpensive, dropping to around $90. For the price of a U2 ticket, you can have a DVD player and the DVDs - and watch U2 over and over.

If you still cannot afford one, do what Wanderer did and start your own charity drive.

I, for one, hope that they are making a region 1 DVD (North America), rather than just a region 2 DVD (Europe). Otherwise, someone will have to start cheating...

Also, I do somewhat lament the fall of VHS, but I think we are now starting to see the transition to phasing out VHS, not so unlike when CDs slowly began to phase out vinyls in the late 1980s.

Also, this is being hastened by DVD-RW (DVD+RW) technology that is just beginning to emerge, with a DVD+RW VCR. This disc will be compatible with existing DVD players, PC/Mac DVD players, and, of course, the DVD VCR. I'm really excited about this technology, and I think it will be far enhanced once HDTV is released in a few years.

Can you tell I'm a bit of a tech junkie?

How long must we sing this song?!

This is pretty cool! I can't help but worry about the only 19 song thing. If the Spanish TV broadcast is anything to go by, they will mix performances from the two nights (they filmed the first and second boston shows.. which both had identical setlists). We'll have to wait on the details.. but i can't wait to see this!!

I'm sure they'll release it worldwide (Regions 1-6). Otherwise, they'll be severely limiting the market.

i hope it will be released WorldWide DvD and VHS , also so much of extra stuff ( my fingers crossed for USA version release

yeah I guess it's true that VHS is dying but I could cope with some shitty sound or picture... I guess I have to get a dvd-player sooner or later anyways, so I better start bugging my mom about getting one

According to Willie's diary, the second Slane show was filmed by the same crew that did Boston. I wonder why that show isn't on "disc 2"? That point aside, it looks like they are putting out a great package. As anyone who has the Eagles DVD knows DTS sound quality is untouchable. (If you have the equipment of course)

I just read about this in a newsletter and had the same reaction...NO VHS!!!
The funship U2 is sailing off into the technological distance and leaving the steerage passengers behind.awwwwwwww
It was fun while it lasted.I just have way too much brilliant music captured on VHS to change to DVD. $$$is an issue too unfortunately.
But there is a will, so there will be a way.One day
