Was reported in the LONDON LITE that U2 are in talks to play a " residency " at the O2 in London next year . AEG who works with U2 and run the O2 are quoted as saying " we are working on having them for multiple nights in 2008 " Prince performed for 21 sell out nights and it is hoped Bono and the band will play a similar stint .

LONDON LITE . Is a free newspaper here in London given out in the late afternoon , article was on page 3 headline " U2 TO TAKE OVER THE O2 " Check thisislondon.co.uk

why o2, why not the new wembley stadium ? or better still my back garden ?

if, and it's a huge if, this is true then we could be looking at a very different style of touring for u2 where they travel less. It could also mean that we get very different sets every night.

But i'm very very sceptical!

No way they do more than 5 nights in one place.

I would be very surprised if they set up tent for more than 6 or 7 shows. They've always seemed too restless, lets-go-everywhere in their touring phases.

Of course, never say never.

Hmmmm, maybe they'll do a small residency, like Smashing Pumpkins did at San Francisco's Fillmore, about 8 -10 shows I think.
