The Edge is also certainly on that track. He plays the 'underwater guitar'. Don't think Adam and Larry were present though. Still, they released this as a U2 song, so it's a U2 song in my book.

COBL, it's the same version, it was only performed once, they just cut out the audience. In the end, Bono says: Happy Birthday, Frank.
The video is also cool, I love how Edge is hiding somewhere in a corner with his guitar.
Has anyone seen the Off The Records interview, Bono is singing parts of Two Shots there, he obviously struggles to remember the lyrics, it's quite funny, but also interesting to hear his story about the song.

I fekin love this song and alays have. Very similar in feel to Love Is Blindness.
This is what makes U2 so special to me. I cant think of many other bands that could do this song, or Slow Dancing, Love Rescue Me, Luiceille and then come out with Mofo , The Fly and Zoo Station. Man...they really are special!!

This is one of my favorite B-sides. It's a lot different than what U2 was doing at that time, but it's such a great song. I think it really lets Bono show off his range. There aren't high notes so much as big notes, parts where he really has to belt it out.

I wish they would've done a B-sides disc with Best of 90-00, because this and too many other great B-sides from that era are falling through the cracks.

If you like this you should also listen to the alt. version of If You Wear That Velvet Dress that Bono did with Gavin Friday. It's awesome too.

He did a version with Gavin Friday? Didn't know about that one. I do know Bono re-recorded it with Jools Holland and his Orchestra. Are you referring to that version?

Apart from the Frank Sinatra Tribute version, they've never really performed this song live. Bono did sing some verses in concert, once. That was in Antwerp during the Elevation Tour (5 August 2001).
Someone in the crowd requested this song. Bono said he didn't knew the words to it, but sang a verse anyway. They then played Stay and after that song Bono again sang (a capella) some parts from Two Shots...

It was great to witness that moment!
I bet! what were the verses he sang?

I've just really listened to and discovered this song this week. What a great, sad, bittersweet and uplifting, happy, hopeful kind of lovesong

I think, maybe I could hear MacPhisto singing this or at least parts of it.

Two shots of happy, one shot of sad
You think Im no good, well I know Ive been bad
Took you to a place, now you cant get back
Two shots of happy, one shot of sad

Walked together down a dead end street
We were mixing the bitter with the sweet
Dont try to figure out what we might of had
Just two shots of happy, one shot of sad

Im just a singer, some say a sinner
Rolling the dice, not always a winner
You say Ive been lucky, well hell Ive made my own
Not part of the crowd, but not feeling alone

Under pressure, but not bent out of shape
Surrounded, we always found an escape
Drove me to drink, but hey thats not all bad
Two shots of happy, one shot of sad

Guess Ive been greedy, all of my life
Greedy with my children, my lovers, my wife
Greedy for the good things as well as the bad
Two shots of happy, one shot of sad

Maybe its just talk, saloon singing
The chairs are all stacked, the swingings stopped swinging
You say I hurt you, you put the finger on yourself
Then after you did it, you came crying for my help

Two shots of happy, one shot of sad
Im not complaining, baby Im glad
You call it a compromise, well whats that
Two shots of happy, one shot of sad

Two shots of happy, one shot of sad

(happy birthday, frank)
