I was thinking a little bit today ( I know! Quite a shocker! hehe. ) But I was just wondering of the significance of U2's reinvention of their image. We all know that what helped them seem viable through out the ages is that they were able to transform their music, but I feel that it was also because they were able to do to their image as well. I was wondering on your thoughts of this? What do you feel were their key boys of transformation and what styles were they?

I once heard that by reinventing their image U2 added another 10 years (at least) to their lifespan. I agree with that. Should they've continued in the same vein after Rattle & Hum there wouldn't be a U2 now. It gave them an opportunity to explore new sounds without bothering too much about the critics.

C ya!
