I like both a lot, but prefer U2. But then again, I'm weird.

I like the original better than the U2 version, though. It's ten kinds of awesome.
 
I know it's a cover but U2's version is from 87 and it doesnt really sound like it's from 1960 or whatever. Anyway to me it's a toss up since I dont care much for christmas songs.
 
I prefer christmas (baby, please come home) purely based on the fact that its a sing along sort of song. I know that fairytale of new york is a better song as in it has alot more meaning and is actually quite deep. Long live kirstie mccoll!
