The Pogue's Fairytale of New York vs. U2's Christmas (Baby, Please Come Home)

Which one do you like better?

I'll have to go with Fairytale of New York for obvious reasons.

That's a tough one, but U2's Christmas (Baby, Please Come Home) is so old.....I'll go with Fairytale of New York this time.

Uh, that isn't a U2 original, just to let you know.
It's an oldie from the 60s, maybe even the 50s.

I like both a lot, but prefer U2. But then again, I'm weird.

I like the original better than the U2 version, though. It's ten kinds of awesome.

I was just going to say that.

Such a shame when people don't know about some songs that they're covers.

I know it's a cover but U2's version is from 87 and it doesnt really sound like it's from 1960 or whatever. Anyway to me it's a toss up since I dont care much for christmas songs.

I prefer christmas (baby, please come home) purely based on the fact that its a sing along sort of song. I know that fairytale of new york is a better song as in it has alot more meaning and is actually quite deep. Long live kirstie mccoll!
