All I know is that when I'm down or depressed, i just kick on "The Playboy Mansion" and the :edge:'s opening riff is enough to calm me down:drool:

Very underrated song, like close to Elvis Presley and America underrated

That's funny you mentioni Elvis Presley and America.. Because that song used to drive me nuts.. It's like 8 minutes long and I can't understand what the hell the song is about. But lately, I have been listening to the song and it is absolutely powerful. The emotion of Bono's singing and the Edge's poignant guitar playing.... Now, I don't care what it means... I just like the whole nature of the song....

Brilliant!

And speaking of velvet dress...the transition from TPM to IYWTVD is one of my favorite ever...you need that transition to make velvet dress "feel" right. Anyone agree?

500 percent...

Haha, now that the coup has been successful....I am appointing myself Lead Bunny of the Mansion.

I agree so much with you Lemon MacPhisto about the song's uplifting usage!

Playboy Mansion is the last bit of levity on the album before it decends into the heaviest album closers the band has ever, both previous and since, laid out.

The song is not B-Side at all - it's the last disjointed bit of hummable melody there is. The song is like being in the midst of coming down and thinking that it's all gonna be o.k.; but when it's over, you realize that this feeling is short-lived, and the reality is much darker.
