Creed's new video 'Bullets'.

Whatever you do, watch this video. Download it, steal it, rape and pillage for it, you have to see it.

Creed has officially become a hairband, a troll-band, a joke. I know they have been for a while but now even their fans can't deny it.

The basic 'plot':

Scott Stapp is some kind of winged god/angel/flying man thing who wields a sword and flys around killing demons and monsters. When they shoot bullets at him he makes them freeze in the air, yes EXACTLY like the Matrix. And then his other two 'band' mates appear with wings and all seem to be super muscular and buff.

So then they just go around and kill everything in sight, unfortunately the forget to kill eachother.

BUT OMGLNG#1! IZ LIEK TEH KEWELIZT!!!1!!!

AND THE MOST ABSURD THING ABOUT IT...THE ENTIRE VIDEO IS COMPUTER ANIMATED.

Now go back and read the 'plot', yes they animated that.

Let's all get this steaming pile of diherrea on TRL. Once people actually see this, Creed's career is all downhill from here. VH-1 'Where are they now?' here they come!

Ughhh.. I HAVE to see that video. It's the kind of thing where I have to see it BECAUSE it's so stupid -- like how I rented Glitter just to laugh at Mariah Carey.

Oh it gets better.

my favorite quote:

"Scott [Stapp] said the bullets [in the song] were like stabbing comments from the critics," said Vision Scape President Matt McDonald. "And he said that before he and his group react to those comments, they think about them. So that was why when all the demons shoot bullets at them, they go back to this zone which we called the 'happy place.' They prepare themselves for battle before they just lash out with a bunch of retorts and random comments."

The happy place? I read that the first time and seemed to have somehow rolled my eyes so far back in my head I was able to see my brain.

I started to watch the creed video, but I suddenly became very ill and couldn't watch the rest.

I think somebody should film a Creed documentary and call it "Spinal Tap Part Two".

I saw this video online. The song itself had a surprisingly hard edge to it. At least, it shows that Creed sometimes like to change the artists that they shamefully mimic. Before, they were content to sound like a mix of Pearl Jam and U2. Now they want to sound like Alice In Chains and Tool. Boy, these guys ARE clever!

Creed couldn't be "hard" if they took Viagra.

They should stop trying.

Have you people seen the Elevation video? I mean SERIOUSLY! Evil U2 vs. good U2 and the Edge pasted into scenes with Angelie Jolie!? That was the stupidest fucking thing I've ever seen. Get off your high horses! We have our share of crap videos too.

Did anyone in this thread say that U2 never has had a bad video? I didn't see anyone say that. I personally think the New Years Day video is kind of dumb, and the Elevation video is pretty scary sometimes. Does that make you feel any better?

Geez, relax, take a deep breath.....

I take it you like the Creed video, then good for you. Don't take offense if others don't like it.

at the fact that you are taking this so personally.

It's just a video, VH1 and MTV will play it every ten minutes for the next two months, then another video will take it's place.

I don't see what the big deal is.

Garibaldo, please, you forgot that there is a difference between U2 doing a video like Elevation and Creed doing a video like Bullets. U2 know that they are messing around when they are playing superheroes and villains. It is all in good fun. When Creed does it, you get the feeling that they are stroking their egos by doing the video. Stapp comes off as believing he is the next great rock star, where as Bono just does it naturally. THAT is the difference. It is a matter of being rock legends versus trying to play the part.

Johnny, message boards are so boring without you. Hope you've been well, and Happy St. Patrick's Day.

P.S. We better not find Creed in your CD collection

The Red Hot Chili Peppers did the whole song-as-a-video-game thing better with "Californication".

Good song, good video.

(And yes, I did actually vote for it.)

I can't get the video to play from this site. I've tried this at both my home and work computers (which use vastly different servers) and the same result happens: a screen appears, but nothing ever plays. Do I have to download something to get this to work?

Thanks! That one worked.

Hmmm... the video... well, it's not very good animation. That aside, the video does make them appear to be "holier than thou" (I mean, Stapp's character is an angel!!!). I think they are really trying to hard to capture an image U2 had back in '87. Still, it's not that bad of a video.

I was more appalled by the song. YOWZAH! What is that noise? I got used to "My Sacrifice" but "Bullets" is just terrible. Yet, that heavy metal sound is reminiscent of the heavy metal sound of U2's "Bullet the Blue Sky" - which offered a significant clash of sound when compared to the first few songs on JT. Is this just coincidence or was it intentional on Creed's part?

Hmmm...

I usually don't fall for those "and look who's copying U2" now type of lines, but this one does seem more blatant to me.
