I've read a few threads recently that say "<songnamehere> should have been put on the album! Why not?!"

So, why not write your alternative tracklisting for whatever album you felt U2 fell short on.

Rules: NONE. Any album, add/remove any tracks!

GO...! NOW.

I'll start with 'The Unforgettable Fire'.

ufalt.jpg

Here's a cover I used when including this expanded album in a self made boxset. If I can find the box, I'll show you, opted for proper boxes rather than plastic jewel cases.

I included every B-side simply because I personally feel they all match the standard of the whole album and leaving some tracks off or not even using them on a later album was just a WASTE! Epsecially 'The Three Sunrises', 'Love Comes Tumbling' and 'Bass Trap'.

Disc One-

1. The Three Sunrises
2. Pride
3. Boomerang I
4. Wire
5. Boomerang II
6. 4th of July
7. Love Comes Tumbling
8. Elvis Presley and America

Disc Two-

1. A Sort of Homecoming
2. Indian Summer Sky
3. Sixty Seconds in Kingdom Come
4. Promenade
5. The Unforgettable
6. Bass Trap
7. Bad
8. MLK

I was pleased with this list since I feel the tracks all flow well and you get a more 'rocky' disc followed by some some tracks in the same vein but slotted between a lot more 'mellow' tracks.

Okay, I don't expect much of this thread since it will probably be ignored for whatever reason, but if we could get a lot of you joining in that would be great!

Someone reply...

A lot of people say Rattle and Hum should have been 2 discs - 1 studio, 1 live - and I agree with this. The mixture feels a little messy and takes away from the superb quality of the new songs.

1. Van Diemens Land
2. Desire
3. Hawkmoon 269
4. Angel of Harlem
5. Love Rescue Me
6. When Love Comes To Town
7. Everlasting Love
8. God Part II
9. Heartland
10. All I Want Is You
Bonus Track: Hallelujah Here She Comes

Live
1. Helter Skelter
2. All Along The Watchtower
3. I Still Havent Found What Im Looking For
4. Freedom For My People-Silver and Gold
5. Pride
6. Star Spangled Banner-Bullet The Blue Sky
Bonus: Exit
Bonus: Bad
Bonus: With or Without You
Bonus: Sunday Bloody Sunday
Bonus: People Get Ready (from Save the Yuppies)

11 Tracks for each CD - works better.

I have the Rattle and Hum studio stuff on my iTunes without the live stuff, I just don't think the original record goes well at all!!

No Dancing barefoot?

never mind THAT. Submit your own! If someone else had made this thread it would be HEAVING with lists! Or did everyone suddenly decide every album is perfect?!

Ok, here I go

WAR:

1) A Celebration
2) Sunday Bloody Sunday
3) Seconds
4) Red Light
5) Surrender
6) The Refugee
7) Like A Song
8) Drowning Man

10) Two Hearts Beat As One
11) 40

I think adding A Celebration to the beginning would have made War a little better. But maybe thats just me, who is obsessed with the song

Sweet! I am liking those Rattle and Hum discs!

The Joshua Tree Double Disc. SORRY! I always get wordy when describing things!!

Posted this one a while ago. I kept the 'Holy Trinity' together as disc one's tracks 1-3. And slotted in tracks on Disc One where I thought they followed the similar them, (WOWY, WTTW, and Luminous Times) and tried my best to make them all flow...see what you think. I also have 'Red Hill Mining Town' closing Disc One the way it SHOULD have done side one of the original LP!

The 'death suite' is nearly kept together but with 'Silver and Gold' before 'Mothers' since I think it really follows 'Exit' well, not to mention the fact it's MIXED BETTER! And I really like having a good hard track to fade out at the end before the finale!

Disc One ('Beautiful Ghost' on Track One, depending on how I feel )
