Thankfully, The Unforgettable Fire, clearly the best single in the competition, has survived to fight another round. The last round saw the highest level of participation for a long while, and the loser by a decent margin was ...

SOMETIMES YOU CAN'T MAKE IT ON YOUR OWN

I would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that you are voting for the ENTIRE single collection, not just the title track, and you are voting to ELIMINATE what you consider to be the WORST single. In other words, this is blatant propaganda to discourage you from voting for The Unforgettable Fire and I am totally abusing my position as maintainer of the competition. But my point is: there is no justification for voting for The Unforgettable Fire. Do not vote for The Unforgettable Fire.

Finals: U2 Singles Survivor - Round Twelve

is now open. Please vote by clicking in the circle next to the single you like the LEAST on the electronic poll above. Thank you.

Please be aware that you are voting on the WHOLE single release, not the individual a-side. In the same way that album survivor involved whole albums with their full complement of tracks competing against each other, singles survivor will involve whole singles with their full complement of tracks competing against each other.

This is a TWO day timed electronic poll.

Instructions:

Voting

Each round please vote off the single you like the least. The single with the most amount of votes is the the least popular for this round. Voting is anonymous. It's not compulsory to state your preference in the thread.

Next round all the singles are listed again, minus the single that receives the most amount of votes this round. And again please vote for your least favourite single from the selection.

And on we go for many rounds until there's only two singles left. In the last round you vote for your favourite out of the two. The last single standing is the most popular (or the least unpopular depending on how you look at it).

Tie Breaker

In the event of a tie, both or all tied singles will be instantly eliminated from the competition.

Have fun!

Ha, I'm an American and I'm up! But I always stay up until around 5 Amish and wake up in the afternoon...

Gotta vote for the Popheart EP........doesn't do much for me.

I gotta say, I made my previous statement without actually knowing if the American population at large were indeed, asleep or not! Im not really up to date with the time differences in other countries!

(note to self - open ur little mind!!)

US east coast = GMT -0500
US west coast = GMT -0800
Axverland = GMT +1000 (or GMT-whatever-the-hell-I-like if I have no schedule, which has been the story of the last few months.)

So there's TWO different time zones over there then?
I really didnt know that! Seriously, i've been to plenty of European countries, but never to the States. If I had, or perhaps even, WHEN I DO, then i'll have more of an idea just how big a country it is!

(I do now recall actually, a mate of mine coming back from Canada one time, and telling me that there was a 'lake' over there, which could fit England in?):eyebrow:

The US actually has four time zones, going in hour increments from GMT -0500 to GMT -0800. The worst part? They don't always conform to state borders. At least Australia's multiple time zones are sensible!

And I say this coming from New Zealand, the land of one time zone. Nice and easy.

I think you could quite easily lose England in Hudson's Bay in Canada.

Just be thankful you're not from somewhere like Monaco or San Marino - all other countries would seem so damn big you'd get an inferiority complex!

It's like how a tenth of Auckland's entire population saw U2 during Lovetown ...

Any of your relatives go to that one and have stories to tell?

Nope, my relatives went to Wellington and Christchurch Lovetowns. I was nearly three, I could have gone! :madspit:

My uncle managed to run into Larry's drum tech in Wellington and I think he caught Dallas in Christchurch.

I hope you phone him every day to tell him just how much of a bastard he is.

I'm pissed I missed Popmart. I hadn't been in Australia long when it hit Brisbane. I was eleven, Mum really could have taken me! But we weren't even aware it was on ...

Can I now phone you to tell you how much of a bastard you are?

*can't wait for his first U2 show - first concert ever, in fact - on 24 May!*

Aardvark747 said:
lol - at least u have, what is it - 3 gigs to go to?....
So you'll equal me straight away!

What shows have you been to?

I've got 24 (nosebleeds), 26 (GA), and 28 (GA) May in Boston coming up. Flying to the States on 20 May and staying until 3 July, so I won't be on Interference much at all for a whole month. I was actually only staying until 1 July (landing back in Australia on 3 July), but my itinerary was accidentally changed to 3 July, landing in Australia on 5 July. Not that I mind at all! I can't bloody wait.

By the way ... as I depart the US on 3 July and land on 5 July, there's no 4 July for me this year. Thus, American independence will not occur for me this year and the US cannot be considered independent. All Americans must now spell like the rest of us and drive on the left or the SAS will dispense some good old fashioned Commonwealth justice!
