First album: Rattle & Hum (in 1991)
Voting: War

Yes, it has some great songs. But also some horrible ones. And mediocre ones. And Bono's voice on many of the songs is horrible.

I haven't heard many of the older albums yet so I'm voting for ATYCLB

Buy Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby immediately. They are perfection. If you are disappointed, I will send you a refund. :) I assume you just became a fan? If so, welcome.

First album: Best Of 1980-1990 (1998)
First proper album: All That You Can't Leave Behind (2000)

Voted: All That You Can't Leave Behind

My first experience with U2 was Unforgettable Fire in 1986.
I voted for All...Behind, again.:|

 What he said. Except for the refund part - I'll let bsp77 take care of that. I'm saving for tickets! :D

Welcome ribbons&bows!
(I love the waving smilie!)

Beautiful Day kicks Pride's butt -- and I love Pride.

My vote goes to Zooropa -- again. Weakest of the albums remaining. The only must-have song on it for me is Stay.

Your loss.

I've been listening to JT since I was little b/c my mom's a huge fan. So I've basically been a fan my whole life :D

I'll make sure Achtung Baby is the next one I listen to. Thanks

All That You Can't Leave Behind

The same as I have voted in every round so far. Still wearing the lilac taffeta. :|
if all that you can't leave behind stays on in this round i will dig my eyeballs out of their sockets with a spoon formerly used to shovel out cat litter and freebasing.

oh and to answer your question beli, as it says in my profile i've liked the band since 87, but really became a fan in 91. the first album i bought of theirs was achtung baby. :D

First song: HMTMKMKM... (I was 12 at the time)
First Album: Boy (in 1995) and the reason I am a fan!
2nd album: Zooropa
3rd album: October
4th album Achtung Baby
.
.
(ending with JT)
(all bought in 1995/1996)

Voting on ATYCLB

Albums, and the order I bought them in:

Best of 1980-1990
October
War
The Unforgettable Fire
Under A Blood Red Sky
Rattle & Hum
Achtung Baby
Pop
Zooropa
The Joshua Tree
Boy
The Joshua Tree (first copy got scratched due to so many listens)
Passengers
The Joshua Tree (second copy got stolen because, of course, it is so amazing)
All That You Can't Leave Behind
Best of 1990-2000
How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb

First song I heard by U2: Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me Kill Me at age 13 when watching Batman Forever after buying it long after its release; my mind was blown and has continued to be blown ever since.

Fan since the Batman Forever viewing in 1997. Serious fan starting with the purchase of the Best of 1980-1990, which first I listened to over and over at a friend's house.

The singles from Achtung Baby made me a fan, but the first album I bought was Zooropa. How great it was buying all the previous albums and listen to them for months, gradually understanding how great they are.

Voted once again for ATYCLB (this time it can't possibly survive:wink: )
