Baby please
Baby please don't go
I got lies to feed
They want skin and seed
And don't make me crawl

Please
Baby don't bite your lip
Give you half what I got
If you untie the knot
It's a promise

Salome...salome
Shake it shake it shake it salome
Shake it shake it shake it salome
Salome...shake it shake it shake it salome

Baby please
Baby what's that tune
Well I heard it before
When I crawled from your door
And my blood turned blue

Please
Baby please slow down
Baby I feel sick
Don't make me stick to my promise

Salome...salome
Shake it shake it shake it salome
Shake it shake it shake it salome
Salome...shake it shake it shake it salome
Salome...shake it shake it shake it salome

Baby please
Baby don't say no
Won't you dance for me
Under the cherry tree
Won't you swing down low

Please
Baby please say yes
Baby don't go away
You're spilling me
And your precious love

Salome...salome
Shake it shake it shake it salome
Shake it shake it shake it salome
Salome...shake it shake it shake it salome
Salome...shake it shake it shake it salome
Salome...shake it shake it shake it salome

"Salome" is a sensual, sassy song of attraction and desire delivered in a throbbing, intoxicating musical mix of sounds.

While Salome was one of the best known temptresses of the Old Testament, U2 revives her to highlight the joys and the dangers of sexual attraction and wanton desire.

Done during the AB era, when Bono was in the midst of finding ways in his lyrics of "wrestling with the devil", "Salome" is as much of a word of caution regarding sexual desire (lust) as it is an admission (and possibly a celebration?) of it. :combust:

Personally, I love the song.

Great song for discussion.

SALOME....:bono:   ;)

I love it. It has a nice groove there thanks to Adam (groove master) and Larry (always providing the best beat to the songs). I love those metallic guitars on the chorus and Edge's voice is cool too. I like the angelic singing at the end, I think they could have explored that a little more. Even though it's from the Achtung Baby sessions I like to think of it as an early blueprint for Discotheque.

By the way, what's up with those numbers there? 1/4? :eyebrow:

Oh yes, where is Salome, if we're talking about Salome?

(salome is indeed sassy)

The song or the person?
And if it's the person, the original woman or the current man? :sexywink:

*wonders why he hasn't shaken it yet*

I didn't mean to imply anything other than what Jamila already said in here, I realised long after I replied of course :D

The song!
Sorry to resurrect, I was checking no one had noticed, but of course you had Marty
