i hope everyone had some fun voting, as i sure had fun making the matchups and calculating the results

if anything, this showed us that U2's older songs (80s) are more favored than their newer releases (90s, 00s)

no song past joshua tree made it into the final four

it should be noted that achtung baby AND pop both did do very well here, although the same cannot be said for atyclb or htdaab

i personally do not think streets is U2's best song ever, but, based upon the results, it is the most popular

streets "outscored" its competition (god pt. 2, the fly, out of control, one, sunday bloody sunday, and bad) by a stunning total of 203-68...its closest competition was one

thanks for voting everyone, and i'm going to work on coming up with something else interesting for everyone!

Well, that was heaps of fun! I enjoyed that. And although I voted for Bad, I'm just as happy to see Streets win.

Thanks for doing the poll.

Bad should've won though.

Re: Song Elimination Tournament, Final Results

This was a fun game, but i wonder if the final outcome would be the same if you match up different songs.

this game setup reminds me of march madness...it would be interesting to see among the players who's the best at guessing which song will win in each round.

I know you didn't ask me, but I voted for Bad because in this contest, we were voting on the basis of both studio and live. I think U2's two very best studio songs are 1. Streets, because it's so amazingly epic, and 2. Bad, because it's the zenith of minimalism, the perfection of Edge's craft. So why did I vote Bad? Because live, there is extremely little better than Bad, and despite a few exceptional Lovetown performances, I can't give Streets the edge there.

xtihn...without a doubt, where i placed these songs originally greatly influenced who made it into which round...however, i think streets would have won regardless of where it was placed...

I'm still irked that SBS beat Miss Sarajevo. It's not that I don't love SBS, it's just that I love Miss Sarajevo more.

Enjoyed the poll rock888nwo!

I think some of the earlier matchups were a bit harsh tho, God Part II + zooropa are two of my fav songs, but it is hard to see them beating Streets and One.
