What songs do you think (or wish) U2 are gonna play at their farewell concert (hopefully this won't happen the next 10 years)?

(1) You can put your own favorites in but also have to be realistic: popular songs like Sunday Bloody Sunday or One WILL be on the setlist.

(2) The setlist can only contain 25 songs

(3) Of course there will be a few songs on it from their next album(s), but I will choose from already existing songs.

1. City Of Blinding Lights
2. Beautiful Day
3. I Will Follow
4. Mysterious Ways
5. Even Better Than The Real Thing
6. Sunday Bloody Sunday
7. I Still Haven't Found...
8. Desire
9. Pride
10. One
11.Until The End of The World
12.New Year's Day
13. Stay
14. Bad
15. Gloria
16. Vertigo
17. Acrobat
18. With Or Without You
19. OneTree Hill
20. Walk On

Encore 1

21. MOFO
22. Discotheque
23. All I Want Is You

Encore 2

24. Where The Streets Have No Name
25. "40"

I still haven't found what I'm looking for
Sometimes you can't make it on your own [snippet: No regrets]

Desire [snippet: La bamba]
Staring at the sun
Bullet the blue sky [snippet: America]

Vertigo [snippet: She loves you]

Songs 1 through 20
all from the bands most recent 2-3
albums at the time...

songs 21 through 24

One
Streets
With Or Without You
Pride

all played without a trace of gusto.

I did this a couple of months ago - I chose 26 songs as it equals their longest setlist so far (Vertigo, Dublin). The songs in smaller font represent snippets of varying length.
This is just the concert I would like to see at the present time, not a realistic expectation (obviously).

1. 4th of July (over PA) / City of Blinding Lights
2. Beautiful Day / The Goal is Soul / Some Days Are Better Than Others
3. Elevation / Miami
4. The Cry / The Electric Co. / Bullet With Butterfly Wings / I Can See For Miles
5. 11 O’ Clock Tick Tock / Call Out Your Name
6. I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For / Stay (Faraway, So Close!)
7. Stuck in A Moment You Can’t Get Out of (acoustic) / Lemon
8. Desire
9. Discotheque / Staring At The Sun
10. Mysterious Ways / If You wear That Velvet Dress
11. Until The End of The World
12. New Year’s Day
13. Bullet The Blue Sky
14. Please
15. Gone / Electrical Storm
16. The Unforgettable Fire
17. Where The Streets Have No Name
18. One / Drowning Man / Love is Blindness
Intermission: Pop Muzik (over PA), segueing into Mofo
19. Mofo
20. Vertigo / Stories For Boys
21. Even Better Than The Real Thing
22. The Fly (with "Gotta Go" ending)
Intermission: Zooropa (over PA), segueing into Dirty Day
23. Dirty Day
24. Bad / The First Time / All I Want is You
25. With or Without You / Tomorrow / Love Will Tear us Apart / Shine Like Stars
26. One Step Closer / Kite / 40

I predict that if there is a U2 "farewell" concert, the setlist will include at least one song from the upcoming album(s).

So this is hard.

I Will Follow and Streets would be in there, though.

They'll play Acrobat and nothing else and then walk away into retirement bliss while this forum will implode.

damn, i forgot about aacrobat. okay they can open with drowning man, do wild honey, then close with acrobat.
and of course people on this forum will argue about the manner in which they are enjoying their retirement.

dude i dont even want to think about this!

but i def. wont let anything stop me from being there!

I've thought about this on numerous occasions, and the conclusion I came up with was that the show would end with Bad / 40 / Where the Streets Have No Name

I'd seriously pay $1000 for this setlist.

Urgent: We need a new album to write about. The threads in this forum get more and more ridiculous ...

Where The Streets Have No Name into 40 HAS to be last song in my opinion.......it's the last time the greatest live song of all time will ever be played, it would be the highest of highs....

"It's all I can do...."

There is a .000000000000001 chance that it will end with a song other than 40.

there are far more ridiculous threads than this...

- To speculate for the zillionth time about a setlist, that obviously will never happen at least within the next 12 years?

- To speculate about a song choice, that is pure nonsense, because you don't know
a) the structure of the gig
b) the songs to be recorded in the next decade
c) the songst to be chosen by the band?

- To speculate about an event, that might never happen, just because U2 might never ever want to do a "final gig"?

- To speculate about a setlist chosen by fans, that chose their own favourite ones again and again and again?

- To speculate about an event, that even U2 don't care about a second, because they want to walk on as a band for minimum more than a decade – when some of their so-called hardcore fans share their fantasies about U2's death as artists?

That is ridiculous and a waste of time. Cu in another thread, worth writing there ...:eyebrow:

if you think it's ridiculous, then piss off and stop whinging.

Just answered the question – no need to be aggressive. Great, how some of the so-called U2 fans can behave. They call each other names here – without having to fear to do so eye-to-eye– and then talk about "Peace On Earth" and being "One". Very mysterious ...
