September... but...

There are some news on @u2 that says about September...

Despite the announcement which remains on Universal Italy's web site that U2 will release its new album in May, the latest signs are all pointing to a release later in the year.

Two Italian fan sites, and have received emails from Universal Italy this week relaying a quote from U2 manager Paul McGuinness that the album will not be out in May, but will instead be out "after the summer." Adding to that, U2 fans who recently spoke with Bono in the U.S. are reporting on various Forums and mailing lists that Bono said the album would be out in September because the band hit a "snag" in the recording.

These reports coincide with tips we've received this week from other sources also suggesting a September release date. As far as tour dates go, the rumors we're hearing are that there might be a brief series of promotional shows or appearances this fall to support the album, but the formal tour wouldn't start until early 2005. Again, these are rumors. We've contacted official sources and are waiting for a response.
I thought U2 signed a contract for 3 'Best of' CDs...

So we have two CDs behind...
and now it will probably be 'The Best Of 2000-2010'...

They saved two songs from ATYCLB: Elevation and Walk On...
Around 4 songs from next studio album... and probably 2 or 3 new songs written specialy for the 'best of'...

So we have 8-9 songs...
Now... most songs from the next album will be released in 2005...
add 4 years that will take to make the next album (if we are lucky)... and you have 4 more singles...

The Best Of 1980-1990 --- 13 tracks without "Sweetest Thing'
The Best Of 1990-2000 --- 14 tracks without 'ES' and 'THTBA'

and what?

The Best Of 2000-2010 --- 10 tracks without 'some new songs' ?

That's not much...

uhmm... what was my point?? oh yes...
My point is... maybe there will be more new albums in this dekade than we think...

depends when the 3rd Best of is released.

By 2010, there can still be another U2 album, which would make 3 albums available for it - ATYCLB, "Solar" and the next one.
