oh, so Drowning Man and Surrender are on the verge of elimination yet Seconds sits quite comfortably?!
Yeah...'cause that makes sense...shame on you all.

Sadie said she couldn't work out
What it was all about
And so she let go
Now Sadie's on the street
And the people she meets you know
She tried to be a good girl and a good wife
Raise a good family
Lead a good life
It's not good enough
She got herself up on the 48th floor
Gotta find out
Find out what she's living for

Surrender, Surrender
Surrender, Surrender

Tonight...

Such a heartbreaking song! So beautiful and haunting!

Yes!

I voted drowning man. The most corny U2 song ever

why??

40 and new years day are the only real classics on war

A vote for 40 would protect Drowning Man, that's why. Considering how obviously cobbled-together-at-the-last-minute 40 is, I don't know how the studio version can be a classic. It is a classic live, but in the studio? Shit no.

And anyone who thinks Drowning Man is corny is quite simply insane.

:barf:

I forgot. All love songs are corny. :|

ever heard of the word subjective??!!

No, no I haven't. I'm completely illiterate. That's why I'm posting here.

I think being insane is a prerequisite for access to EYKIW.

they're the kind of lyrics you'd expect to hear in a love song sung by some boy band- not U2

No, that's Ultra Violet you're thinking of, not Drowning Man.

:barf:

Yeah, that's not great. Not great at all. :yikes:

fantastic singing though, i love it when Bono sings in that range - i don't know how to describe it but especially in that song there's a really 'rich' tone to it when he sings that low. My old music tech teacher detested U2 just because he thought Bono's singing sounded like he was constipated...when it goes from the first verse to second in Drowning Man I almost get what he means

But they were a band of boys when he wrote that :cute:

ok but yeah I know that's not what you meant

When's this round supposed to end, anyway?

Hey, another Seattle person! :)

Tonight. I usually post the new polls around 6 pm our time, but I'll be out for part of tonight, so it might get posted a little late.

Or a little early ... this one looks like it's getting close, though, so I'm hesitant to not let it run its full 48 hours.

Yeah, I saw Vertigo twice! The first night, when Bono dived out into the crowd during Zoo Station, my friend Levi was holding him up.
