Zooropa won, and there was much rejoicing.

On to Passengers!

For this album, polls will remain open only 24 hours.

VOTE FOR YOUR LEAST FAVORITE SONG

Polls will remain open for 24 hours, unless one song has taken enough of a beating after a day or so, in which case we'll call it an act of mercy and move on to the next round.

Songs in this round:

- United Colours
- Slug
- Your Blue Room
- Always Forever Now
- A Different Kind Of Blue
- Beach Sequence
- Ito Okashi
- One Minute Warning
- Corpse
- Elvis Ate America
- Plot 180
- Theme From The Swan
- Theme From Let's Go Native

Criteria for song selection (at least for the albums): anything on the regular pressings of the Best Of 1980-1990, Best Of 1990-2000, and U2:18 is excluded.

Holy shit, that's a lot of songs. Oy.

Gotta go with the glaringly obvious here.

Elvis Ate America

This is a 24 hour album, so it will go at essentially the same speed as Boy or October went.

Yeah, I need to listen to this one in the next day or so. I can only pick two of those songs out of a lineup.

Elvis Ate America is the very worst U2* song ever.

*If you do not accept Passengers as a U2 album, please convert "U2" to "U2-related" in the sentence above.

I actually have a slight soft spot for Elvis Ate America. It's incredibly fun to sing. That said, I certainly understand why its disliked.

My vote went for A Different Kind of Blue though. God Brian Eno gives me the creeps on that song :yikes:

On ATYCLB.

Yeah, it would be useful on that album.

Passengers, however? Third best thing U2 have done behind UF and JT. Incredible atmospheres.

I actually have a lot of trouble accepting most of the album as U2 songs, especially the songs with vocals by people who aren't U2.

EAA sucks more than anything else, including Red Light.

I disagree, I can easily put AB and R+H above, and everything else I'm too drunk to make a decision on. But that doesn't mean Passengers is 5th at all, because it isn't. Pop beats it too I think.

I'm sure we can both agree on one thing though: had EYKIW existed at the time, it would have been hilarious when Passengers came out!

If Your Blue Room doesn't win this I will lose all faith in humanity.

You have all been warned.

Psh, Slug is the clear winner here. I've lost faith in you now. :tsk:

:eyebrow:

You're an odd one, Ax. Slug is probably my second favorite out of this list, but it's got nothing on YBR, except the synth atmospherics.
