Rank the HTDAAB songs

I took the responses to this thread and created a pretty basic spreadsheet of everyone's rankings to see if there was anything nearing a consensus. A couple things are clear.

Miracle Drug has a solid hold on #1.
City of Blinding Lights is a strong #2.
One Step Closer & A Man and a Woman are entrenched at the bottom, with Yahweh not far behind.
The other seven songs are all clumped together in the middle, something I don't find especially surprising.

I'll continue to update this going forward, but here's how the songs rank right now with 24 "usable" ballots cast (I didn't count incomplete lists, or lists with multiple ties).

Notes
Nine songs received at least one 1st Place vote.
Miracle Drug (6) obtained the most. City of Blinding Lights (4) is next.
A Man and a Woman had an "impressive" 8 last place votes. As you would expect, One Step Closer (6) was next.
Miracle Drug and Vertigo were the only songs not to receive a last place vote, although Vertigo had two 10's.

That was pretty tough--I feel so "wrong" in putting some of those songs at or near the bottom (minus "A Man and a Woman," which I despise), but you gotta' draw the line somewhere. I'm really splitting hairs, over here; in reality, there should probaby only be seven songs on this list, cuz my 6-10 songs are basically all but tied up...

ive changed my mind about Love and Peace or Else.....up there at number 5 now compared to 8th yesterday...lol.... a bomb of a song....very cleverly done.

the album was at number 3/4 yesterday, i think over time this may top the lot...i was feeling shite today after so long and i found myself digging up these songs and the only other album that used to get me thru times like this was UF. signs are good so far.

First 8 tracks are almost inseparable. Boy that was tough - To put LAPOE at 11 is painful as it is better than almost every song on ATYCLB. I rate this album EXTREMELY high....in 5 years I'm sure it will be regarded as being right up there with JT & AB.

Wow, it's just astonishing how everyone's ranking is different. Almost every song has been in any of the spots so far. That's clearly a proof that this album is really strong. I think if we would do the same for all other U2 albums, there would never be such variety in everyone's ranking. For the most part the same 3 or 4 songs would be interchangeable at the top I think.

I can't say for now if any of these songs can live up to some classics found on AB or JT, but more than anything they've ever recorded, this album really doesn't rest on a few strong songs.

I can't do a decent ranking, it's just not possible for me right now! They are all pretty much equal except for OSC and Yahweh, which I like a little bit less.

I've updated my spreadsheet and the addition of 18 new entries has created a slight shakeup and a little separation in the middle.

Notes
• Miracle Drug is still a very solid # 1, although the gap was closed slightly.
• SYCMIOYO edged past COBL for # 2, but they're very close.
• OOTS moved by Vertigo. Previously they were very close, but OOTS has created a little space.
• Love & Peace broke out from the logjam at # 6, and CFYT edged ahead of ABOY by a small margin.
• Yahweh is still entrenched at # 9, and both AMAAW and OSC showed very little movement at # 10 & # 11 respectively.
• Every song has now been rated last on at least one ballot.
• Yahweh and OSC still have not received a 1st Place vote.

I cant believe how low some people have put AMAAW in their rankings. I think it's pure class. Anybody else get a K.D. Lang "Constant Craving" vibe from it.

My Thoughts:
It is an amazingly strong album because I love even songs I've ranked quite lowly. The one common denominator I have noticed is that OSC has not ever recieved a rank above about halfway and usually a lot lower. I really like the territory the song covers but musically it is a little uninspiring and never really builds to anything. It will always be at number 11 on my list.

i have not downloaded any songs but surprisingly i have now heard all 11 songs on a chigago radio station and have also heard a few on radio1. so after 1 listen on the radio here is my opinon. This will probably change when i get cd and listen to it for a few times!
