That is on Bono's gates and is part of a poem. I just wondered if anyone could tell me what the poem is called and who it is by. Does anyone know?

This was in another forum but no one responded. I was curious as well, so I thought I'd try it here...

Hello The_Sweetest_Thing, here is the information you and UV2001 were asking for. When I first read this poem, I was reminded of 'Bad' and the use of the wording "half light" in the poem. The poem is by W.B. Yeats entitled "He Wishes for the Cloths of Heaven."

Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.
