Hey all,

I read in another thread that during a press conference, the record reps said "Don't try & guess what the b-side to the 25th anniversary single will be (next year)." What do you all think about a re-recorded version of "A Celebration"? It's never been officially released on CD, and a few of the lines in the song seem timely, particularly:

"I believe in the third world war (in Iraq?)

I believe in the atomic bomb (e.g. the NEW ALBUM TITLE)

I believe in the powers that be (politics / current elections)

But they won't overpower me"

AND

I believe in the bells of Christchurch
Ringing for this land
I believe in the cells of Mountjoy
There's an honest man

(or 'honest woman', e.g. Aung San Suu Kyi, as U2 have ALREADY dedicated 'Walk On' to her and will be contributing to her upcoming benefit album)

AND

I believe in the walls of Jericho
I believe they're coming down

(e.g. the current Israeli-Palestinian withdrawal, etc.)

Just my 2 cents... ;)

Lyrics for "A Celebration":

Shake! Shake!

Don't go
I believe in a celebration
I believe you set me free
I believe you can loose this chains
I believe you can dance with me
Dance with me

Shake! Shake!
Shake! Shake!

I believe in the third world war
I believe in the atomic bomb
I believe in the powers that be
But they won't overpower me

And, and you can go there too
And, and you can go go go go

Shake! Shake!
Shake! Shake!

And we dance out of time
And everything goes 'round and 'round
And we don't have the time
To watch the world go tumbling down

Go! Go!

I believe in the bells of Christchurch
Ringing for this land
I believe in the cells of Mountjoy
There's an honest man

And, and you can go there too
And, and you can go go go go

I believe in the walls of Jericho (And you...)
I believe they're coming down (Can go there too)
I belive in this city's children (And you...)
I believe the trumpet's sound (can go go go go)

And you can go there too
And you can go go go go...

I believe in what I'm doing
What am I doing here...

Good analysis. I was thinking either A Celebration or Out of Control (or both!) when that comment was made not to think about it.

This has been in other threads, and pretty certain it is 11 O'Clock Tick Tock. That was the first Island single and came out exactly 25 years before the third HTDAAB single is supposed to come out.

I think it will be a re-make of Manic Monday, just to throw us a curve-ball.

A Prince tune no less!!

Yes, I've said it in other forums, May is the 25 anniversary of the first U2 single on Island Records, and that single was "11 O'clock Tick Tock". If it is not "11 O'clock Tick Tock" I will be amazed. Doesn't it make sense?
