BTW, sorry about the poll thing! It seems like there have been too many polls lately. Didn't mean to jump the bandwagon!

At least, Bono pronounces the word "suh-LOW-may" in the Achtung Baby B-side of the same name.

I haven't heard every track from Salome, but I do like "Wake Up Dead Man" (a pre-cursor to "Lady with the Spinning Head", "The Fly", and "Until the End of the World", I believe).

...and I adore "Heaven and Hell", hoping that it will be the reworked (a la Sweetest Thing) for the eventual Best Of 1990-2000.

What did you find, Dad?

i have a few favs...
i'm not sure if these are the correct titles...but it's what i have:
"montgomery's visit"
"take today" (pretty much "north and south of the river")
"jitterbug baby"

all time fave: "She's gonna turn your head around" (or whatever it's called)

That one SO rocks...WHY didn't they ever put it on an album????

also like Salome too...(but like the remix better)

I'm bringing these into my ride to work today thanks to this thread.

You're welcome, CK.

Fan named Matt (as a fellow fan prepares to take a picture of him with Larry): "You know Larry, I'm a drummer in a band too."

Larry (looks at fan and shrugs, smiling pleasantly toward the camera): "Well, Matt, we all have our problems."

I haven't heard all of them, so I can't make an educated choice.

never heard them, but I could possibly get them.

Are they worth gettin???? Isn?t it just Salome over and over again???

AM, they are very raw studio takes, some of it is banter scattered around some tracks, a lot of it improvisation with Bono conjuring up new ideas here and there...if you want new material then it probably won't satisfy you as much as you would want except for the few gems listed above...however if you want a running guide to how songs that you know now evolved and developed and a fly on the wall angle on U2 in the studio it will give you a lot to enjoy

I?ve seen it in shops, but I never wanted to spent 30 pounds on them. Also, I know just how "hurt" U2 were, when they leaked out. But a friend of mine?s got a copy (just learned that yesterday). Maybe I just ask her to make me a copy

-Take Today (the North and South of the River working version)
-Wake Up Dead Man/Lady With The Spinning Head combo song (this is my favorite)

BTW, for all those who haven't heard the Salome Outtakes; there is a condensed version called "The Working Tapes" which is just the best stuff from the Salome Outtakes. It's only one disc, and captures all the best moments from the lengthy set. To me, this actually feels more like a new album rather than just a bunch of work in the studio...

I'm a fan of

"Sweet Baby Jane"
the 1st version of "Don't Say Goodbye"
all the "She's gonna Blow You House Down"
and the Lady With The Spinning Head/Wake Up Deadman song on the 3rd disc where there is two Bono's ! wheeeeeeeeeeeeee

------------------
" They had the Vision, but we had the Television " - The Edge

" What Can I give back to God for the blessings he poured out ? "

Heaven and Hell
Sunset in Colors
Chances Away (long version)
Take Today

Th Salome Outtakes are a must have IMO, gotta love the AB era.
