But ‘City Of Blinding Lights’ is for my money the album’s masterpiece, with both Edge and Bono having seemingly purloined melodies from the seraphim. The opening one-minute-twenty sequence is little short of celestial, its slide guitar and glassy piano recalling the panavisions of Unforgettable Fire. If you’re looking for a five minute testimony as to why U2 still matter almost 30 years on, here’s the evidence.

Cool.

Now I'm dying to hear this one in full cd quality...

this is really a great review, I enjoyed reading it. I've noticed that all the reviewers loving the new album all think different songs are the stand outs. One loves SYCMIOYO, one loves L&P, the other COBL. I think this is very good. It's funny that not one reviewer has said Vertigo is the strongest song, or even one of the best moments on the album. I love the first single, so thats even better news.
