Some Irish boys near elevated the roof clean off Gund Arena in Cleveland Ohio. May 3rd, 2001 was my first U2 concert. I have pictures scanned from that show that I would like to post (with assistance from Sicy

).

The thing that impressed me most about the show is how I honestly believe U2 was considering a third encore. Many people know Cleveland Elevation by it's awesome ALD recording. The only thing that beats the quality of the recording, was actually being in Gund at the time.

Main Set:
Elevation
Beautiful Day
Until the End of the World
New Year's Day
Kite
New York
I Will Follow
Sunday Bloody Sunday/Get Up Stand Up
Stuck In a Moment
In A Little While
Desire
Stay
Bad/Ruby Tuesday/40
Where the Streets Have No Name
Mysterious Ways
The Fly

Encore(s):
Bullet the Blue Sky
With or Without You
Pride
One/I Remember You
Walk On

*pics to come*

One of the cool parts of that day was that they gave us our wristbands at 11:00 am and said we are guaranteed to get into the heart, come back at 5:00pm.

So we left and toured Cleveland and ended up at the Hard Rock Cafe. A couple approached us about our green wristbands and they left asap to get theirs.

When we got back at 5:00 they escorted us to the bar inside the Gund and kept us there for 1 hour! That was cool!!

I will never forget walking into the arena and seeing the Heart. Then meeting our new friends in the heart (from the Hard Rock).

Thanks for posting the pics, I love good memories. That was a good night!!

I love this first pic! Well the others are good too, but I consider myself to be a Cleveland girl, even though I live in the burbs.

This was also my first U2 concert, and I went with my brother. We've been U2 fans for as long as I can remember, but we'd just never seen them live before. But of course, we were completely blown away by the show!

We had great GC seats...pricey, but we were right off the side of the stage, so it was worth it. I've been to many concerts, and had never cried at one until this show. I got a little teary during Stay, Bad, and Walk On...remember Bono during Streets? He jumped off the stage (or the heart, can't remember which) and was running around the floor of the arena! It was insane, but it was so perfect for the moment. He didn't do that at any of the other shows I saw last fall.

And Mysterious Ways?? That girl who danced with him sure gave Morleigh (and Mrs. Edge!) a run for their money! She was fabulous (Bono: is this how all the girls are over here?!)

On the way home, my brother and I didn't say a word to each other. We just listened to JT
in silence. We were too stunned by the show to even talk about it. When I got home, I couldn't even sleep that night. The next day my dad came over to take us out to eat, and he asked Shane and I how the show was. It was only then that we could begin to put the night into words. Sounds cheesy, but I'm sure most of you know what I mean.

Anyway...that's just my 2 cents about that night.
