ONCE AND FOR ALL, WHICH IS THE BETTER ALBUM: Boy OR War?

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.

I was thinking of doing the same thing. Drop the name of an entirely different album.

Anyway, I prefer BOY overall but do love October too!

edit: For some reason I read War as October! :slant:

Okay, in that case... WAR it is!!!

New Years Day
Sunday Bloody Sunday
Seconds
Like A Song
40
Surrender
The Refugee

Well, my U2 album rankings are 4. Boy and 5. War, which gives my answer.

Boy is a stronger album throughout, but War has the strongest A-side of any U2 album. The first 5 songs on War are the 5 best of the album. I can't say that for any other U2 album (ALMOST Joshua Tree, but I'd take Exit over Still Haven't Found and Bullet).

So, yeah, Pop

war by a mile

boy was a solid debut by all standards

but war is what makes U2 so great

I'll have to do this track-by-track...I'm going to include ACT and ITH as one track since they are played together and also because it makes it an even 10 against 10.

I Will Follow < Sunday Bloody Sunday
Twilight < Seconds
ACD/ITH < New Year's Day
Out Of Control < Like A Song
Stories For Boys < Drowning Man
The Ocean < The Refugee
A Day Without Me > Two Hearts Beat As One
Another Time Another Place > Red Light
The Electric Co. < Surrender
Shadows And Tall Trees > "40"

War 7
Boy 3

So, War.

Of course, I could've said War based soley on the fact that it has NYD, and that Boy doesn't

I Will Follow > Sunday Bloody Sunday
Twilight < Seconds
ACD/ITH < New Year's Day
Out Of Control > Like A Song
Stories For Boys > Drowning Man
The Ocean < The Refugee
A Day Without Me < Two Hearts Beat As One
Another Time Another Place > Red Light
The Electric Co. > Surrender
Shadows And Tall Trees < "40"

War 5
Boy 5

So, I guess it's a draw for me...

War 9, Boy 1

Tough, but I say War.

I'd like to add that I have only heard IWF and OOC off Boy, but it's the next album I'm getting.

Toughest decision here! Both songs kick ass!

Why bother rating songs you haven't heard yet?
