Something from u2log to add to the song....
New U2 song in NY | random | vonb - 12:17 AM | (0).
From Dennis via e-mail: Last night, one of the local news broadcasts for New York City was reporting on the Tribeca Film Festival happening this weekend. In addition to films, many musical acts played. U2 did not, but a video was shown of them playing a new song they'd written - "The Hands That Built America." The news ended their broadcast with a clip of that video. The song was a ballad, and the band was playing it in an unplugged sort of arrangement.

Also thanks to ignoreland who talks about this song in another post.......

I think its a good retrospective title given the recent state of affairs.Although I am certain of some backlash from those ever naive critics.

Maybe its cos I dont live in America and only non Americans will see it but...it is such a lame corny name for a song! sorry...but it is.

I would assume since it's the song from Gangs Of New York that the song and title relate to the movie.

So I don't understand what Americans/non-Americans has to do w/ it

yeah, I realize that, but it gives you an idea of what the film is about -- and thus gives some insight into why U2 have written a song called "The Hands that Built America"

So what happened to the song titled "A man's a man"? Wasn't that supposed to be the U2 song from the soundtrack?

Pretty corny title.

Adam: Look guys, I got a Springfield spoon for my spoon collection.
Edge: Oh boy, here we go...
Bono: Wow, how many is that now Adam?
Adam: Nine. If I didn't have my spoons, I'd go insane.
Bono: Can I see it?
*adam gives bono the spoon, bono throws it away*
Adam: My spoon!
