Have you heard Original of The Species yet?

There's a clip of it at u2exit.com....
What's your thoughts?

is that the final album version or just a demo ?? :(
Because it sound too primitive and unproduced, I don´t know, I really don´t like it  Bono is so weak, so awfuly weak :(

It's from the apple event yesterday.

I think the lyrics sound great, but the song doesn't sound good in this "striped-down" format IMO.

i never got chance to ask, where did you all get those pics with the band and the color-backgrounds? (Sicy, Herco)
Am I missing sth?!? :eyebrow:

I asked Bono if he wanted to smile for me in front of a green background and i taked the picture....

No seriously, it's ripped from the Vertigo- I tunes commercial.
If you go to PLEBA (which scares me now  ) you can find some.

This is just an "acoustic" performance of the song. I assume the album version might sound a bit better. But yeah, it sounds promising.

From the clip, "Original" sounds like it might be in the vein of "The First Time" and "If You Wear That Velvet Dress," two of their finest.

I have some more info:
Somebody just emailed me this:

the song, the song. it was beautiful! the mp3 snippet doesn't do it justice.
i do have a feeling it will be a little different on the album cuz at one
point during the song bono made some humming sounds and said this is the
part where edge comes-in, meaning with the guitar and cuz edge was on the
piano there was no guitar. and the line everywhere you go and don't be shy
about it are part of the song and it sounds just like the clip from the long
ago 60 minutes interview.

I thought of The First Time as well.
I really like it, but it might be a bit too boring.

I dont know how people are doubting this song from the clip, of course its all opnion so who cares, but I think its amazing! The chorus builds when it ends and it sounds great, I think it is a little more stripped down than the album version will be but its great!

The First Time is a good song, its just not a memorable song.

I hope this song is something that sticks out, and not just a good song.

Awesome! I've been trying to insert these lines to what's available via Apple with not much success. I figure the boys can do a better job.

i love the first time. it's something that you may not find in billboard top 40 but one that one can make his or her personal favorite.

After a few listens of Oots..

I love it.

Even this rough, live version.

I'm sure the studio version is going to be a U2 classic.

So far, I don't hate any of these new clips, and except for Vertigo, all of the songs took several listens to like, especially this one. The album track will obviously be different for OOTS, but so far it is a beautiful song, something maybe Lennon would have written.
