Absolutely, positively, The Edge. Just listen to the difference after Edge stops singing and then Bono jumps in, night and day. Or listen to how he sings the word "medicine". Edge.

More importantly...listen to Van Diemen's Land. It's the Edge. Hands down.

Bono.

'Below' sounds Edge.

'Hear' sounds like Bono.

'Whispering sounds like Bono.

It was just recorded with a different take, different EQ. Inserted after most of the recording. Guessing that it was possibly a couple of months after the majority of the recording. It's hard to get exactly the same sound over time like that.

Like someone said, listen to how the word medicine is sung. It's Edge.

Never considered that it wasn't Bono before this thread and now that I have read it--I still don't hear it.

Some of you should be ashamed of yourselves.

Definitely The Edge.

I'm 99.9 % sure it's The Edge. A little deductive reasoning, the liner notes, plus a good pair of studio monitors pretty much confirm it.

LOL. That was exactly what I was thinking. Edge could (and does)cover for Bono in a jam...they do sound a lot alike, but come ON.

Now that I've had a chance to listen to it, it's The Edge. His voice is slightly higher and narrower than Bono's. He does the part:

Beneath the noise
Below the din
I hear your voice
It’s whispering
In science and in medicine
"I was a stranger
You took me in”

I hope the laser didn't scratch my copy after all those reviews/plays.

Miracle Drug = the new Bad

If this song is as good as I think it will be they might be able to get away with not playing Bad on the new tour (now that I have heard it live and can die happy of course).
