The guys have quite a history with Maria Mckee/Lone Justice for you newbees out there. LJ actually openned for U2 during the Unforgetable Fire tour as well as the JT tour. Moreover, Bono has on many an ocassion touted McKee as the most talented female artist. Maria and her mates were discovered/promoted by Dylan/Petty in the early 80s...Tom Petty even wrote a song for the band 'Ways to be Wicked'...they played what I like to call Cow-Punk back then...nowadays Maria is turning out some of the most magnificant music you've never heard...in fact she was @ the U2 L.A. studio appearance prior to the release of ATYCLB...she has an album comming out soon...Perhaps the boys will get their heads back and ask her to open the next tour.

She put out an album in '93 as well as '96...All albums were on DGC...however, due to extremely poor promotion, you never heard of these albums; interestingly, they are now out of print as Maria has been released from DGC and have become somewhat of collectors items--you can find them on ebay for cheap however. She supposidly has a full length ready to be released. Another interesting Maria note, when I saw her @ Slims in SF back in '93 a little known artist by the name of David Gray openned for her...funny how things change.
